After a period of mainly STS, I seem to have put everything on at once and am +4lbs this week :(.

This is despite me doing the cross trainer and 30DS (admittedly, I am on repeats of the first couple of days and have gaps between the DVD due to really awful muscle ache). I've also been walking far more than usual for the last two months and my diet has been relatively healthy and I'm eating much less overall.

I talked to a friend who has lost a lot of weight and she suggested talking to her trainer who gave her a plan to do herself after they worked together. A trainer doesn't seem a very MSE thing to do. I am getting very frustrated though and I'm wondering whether to try it and if it might make a difference as maybe I'm doing the wrong things.

Have any of you done this and, if so, would you recommend it? Thank you :o.

It's often recommended to mix up the exercise to stop the muscles getting used to it.

You can also google free online personal trainer and there are some sites that may help you to do different workouts at home rather than going to a gym.

It's STS for me this week.

    10 hours of brisk walking.
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library
  • I have gained 2LBthis week  my own fault as made lemon and blueberry cake that was so nice I kept eating it !!!!

Logging 10.2 km running and 9 hrs of skating/ derby training

Sorry short and sweet but just got home and need sleep .......
    Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Congrats to our SoTW jackieb :j:j:T:T

Well done to our losers and STSers this week and commiserations to our gainers - keep trying to change things if they're not working for you - you will eventually find something that can be part of your life forever.

  • Again, sorry I'm late, but it's another STS for me so it's hardly something to :j about!

I knew letting cheese back in would be a mistake, I think I'll be more strict with the ol' Achilles heel.

Oh and happy birthday to the Lose Weight 36 thread! It's a week of birthday's and cake round here.

Thanks for the idea, White Rose! I will try it :).
No worries, I forgot to mention that it would focus on things you could do in 10 minute spurts, and easy to change from one to another, rather than include cycling or swimming, etc. Even balancing on something would help... done safely!

Ooh, SOTW, nice! Thank you. :D

I don't think the scales will be good to me this morning - we'll see. I've been good and i've even been out walking this week, but I think i'm going to have to accept that some weeks i'm going to hold on to water. If I gain today, that will be my 3rd time since October that i've had a little gain. It's always came off the following week though, the thing is just to keep going at it x
