A lot of newbie dupe posts these last few days?

Is it my imagination, or has there been a sudden rash of absolute newbies posting duplicate comps without end dates in the subject? I know there are always some but there seem to be an awful lot at the moment.
Can't work out what anybody would gain if it's deliberate though.
On a surprisingly large proportion of these posts a more experienced poster has posted the links but not asked the OP to add an end date, or spotted the dupe.
Not sure if its a pattern or just one of those situations where because I noticed one, I notice lots more.

Yes noticed that too, I sent several merge requests today and yesterday and noticed a few more regulars doing the same.0

That surprises me too, why jump straight in with the link when it's obvious that the thread is posted incorrectly? There were 4 or 5 today one after the other that were moved to Game Over because there was no End Date and people had added links on some of those without mentioning the error.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Would agree there, surely more important to get an end date on so it doesn't get moved to GO and anyone who does want to enter misses it0 -
Hi,I suppose it's a strange place this internet.
I sometimes get the feeling that asking for dates etc to be added is not welcome especially when I see threads such as this one.Is asking for such policing?
Maybe some members just take the path of least resistance & just add the link.0 -
seen quite a few myself i ask them to put the end date on most of them dont return it seems or dont checkWhat goes around-comes around0

Some days there are none, other days there are many. It's one of life's little mysteries, methinks.
I sometimes ask them to edit the end date, but Weeowens usually gets there before meHe's v. quick :T

A few of the people today who didn't add end dates were self promoters. This always puzzles me. If you are breaking the rules why not make your posts just like everyone else's rather than drawing attention to yourself??0

Would agree with comments above from lilias and weeowens, they are very obvious those posts.
As for so called policing as mentioned above, I for one am grateful to those who spot dupes, request merges, report spam etc and generally keep the board running smoothly.
By doing this I feel at least I am contributing in my small way.0 -
Hope I don't sound ungrateful, but as well as all the above, are people posting comps, with no links to the actual comp, so you have to search through the site to find it. And I don't mean posters that are not allowed to post links, because they are new users.
Or posting lots and lots of links to comps without answers (or T&C, if they are needed). I think most of us attempt to find answers before posting to help everyone else on the boards & there are occasions where we can't or we ask for verification because we're not sure.
Personally would rather post 10 a day where all information is available for all to use, than post 50 links where everyone is hunting for links or answers.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
