so have worked out we have saved around £30 on our groceries this month and around £50 on our diesel budget too so this has all gone towards this months target which we have smashed by 14%! i shock myself sometimes!!
We have had some issues the last few days with out neighbour and i am going to my GP to see if i can get to speak to a councillor as its all getting a bit much for me now. still no sign of an offer on the house and hes still targeting me and my son (legally!)
anyhow! another 7 hrs overtime for me today as i have a weekend away to pay for. hopefully we will do well at our savings next month too! hope everyone has a lovely weekend!Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
hello all! another month begins as of today - its DH payday and although he has been paid a little less than expected, onwards and upwards, ive just told him to deal with it and spend a little less ay!
Have updated our totals, this months will shoot up once i get paid on thursday as i put a ginourmous £1,500 in the kitty when i get paid, purely because my wage is the savings and DH wage is the bills
we are planning another frugal month this month as we have just dropped our house price by 20,000 to try and get ourselves moving and move on in this chapter in our lives, next door is driving us mad and still trying to target my son which is just not on.
so our house is now a bargain for someone wishing to put up with our neighbour! we have a viewing tonight another in the morning and hopeful that they will at least give us the 162,00 to pay our mortgage to allow us to move on. fingers crossed! xxCurrent Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
Hi all, just thought id pop by and update my diary after being gone for 4 months (where does the time go?!)
in the end our neighbour got so bad we decided to drop our house price by 20k and accepted an offer for lower than our mortgage. we are now just weeks away from exchange of contracts and our buyer is fully aware of next door (who is actually behaving himself right now)
I will be so pleased to get out of there and start a new chapter in our lives.
our deposit is saved up for the new house, and we are only taking on an extra £13,500 from what we have now. our plan is to do this house up and try and recover our £20k loss in this house (which is more than doeable)!
so there you have it, fingers crossed I will have some good news in the next few weeks about exchange of contracts

good luck, it is worth taking a hit on this house to get peace and sanity back into your life. Your home should be a haven, not a battleground and in many years time you will remember this as a small blip in your life.mortgage 1 33,000. paid nov 2012
. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k0 -
thanks kirstypark for such kind words of inspiration. you are right, we will look back on it and maybe one day even laugh about it. people we know have lost more money in cowboy builders works so we also find some comfort there and put it down to a lesson learnt. we still may get our money back yet from the court case but we shall see
thank you
