I've been thinking about the two sites being owned by the company for some time now. They are, in most cases, paying twice for the same reviews. I thought it might have changed by now but obviously hasn't apart from dooyoo saying that most wanted products must be exclusive to dooyoo for the bonus miles. Surely it would be better for them financially to stop cross posting altogether.

Honestly, they don't really enforce that either. Changing names to protect the innocent, I have seen people x-posting them over.

    Yes you would think!

Mind you just logged on to ciao for first time in ages to find a review I cross posted and the product it was for, still on sale, bizarrely missing from database, no idea why and cba to find out ... Most weird....maybe I have been banned and don't know it! No idea what could be for tho.... Their entire system appears run by drones and interns.... At least dooyoo have a small but professional team who all understand English..

Think ciao gets way more hits than dooyoo, hope dooyoo carries on existing as it is

Haha, hit the nail on the head with Ciao. It's the distant father to Dooyoo's overachieving younger brother.

I hope Dooyoo is ok as well. It seems to be weathering the economy ok, maybe because they're a German firm (well, a German firm owned by a French firm...) But sometimes I wonder how they can afford to pay so much really... but I guess the six month expiration on reviews and only paying for member reads helps... boo, hiss. I do wonder why they bother having categories they don't pay for though, such as Erotic. I wonder if they stopped paying for dooyoo lounge reviews, would people still post them?

How can you not drink hot drinks? You must survive on a diet of Dextrose and cocaine if you forfeit caffeine... especially with kids... I only have my niece 1 day a week and I get so run down, I swear I feel like I've run a marathon afterwards. But I do have fibromyalgia...

I was aware of Ciao's problems - can't avoid seeing the spam, DY has problems with Print24 as well though - but I wasn't aware of how bad it was honestly. It's surprising the site allows 'clique cartels'*... and I have felt for a long time shorter reviews are terribly underrated. As a consumer myself I want to read several reviews to compare and contrast, not necessarily the shorter the better, but I don't want to spend reading for half an hour about some tangentially related story or unnecessary information added to pad a review out. Ciao used to have a shorter review competition didn't they? It would be nice if DY had some kind of express review competition seeing as they don't pay for them.

What I do like about Ciao is the premium fund - I feel like there is more opportunity to earn potentially, as with Dooyoo you have your rates and your crowns, and if you don't get a crown and no one seems to be rating you anymore, that's it for that review, whereas on Ciao as long as you get some exceptionals you could be in for a bit of money (on top of the rates) from the PF next month. But I don't earn as much with Ciao even with PF - again, I just feel lucky I am allowed to get an extra fiver a month from x-posting there - not really bothered about anything else.

One word.... Chocolate!...to answer how I survive...

Some people don't like the fact that guide noms allegedly carry more weight than those of other members.... Don't know if true...but it is fairer than the pf I think, guides don't, I hope, friend nominate.

Re print24, am going to raise that with dooyoo, it's been incessant of late

Print24 is ridiculous and I don't see the point, it's very obviously them doing it and the reviews are rubbish.

I got to £20 in just over two weeks but i've just had some really awful news and am feeling very down so struggling to carry on with it but hopefully i'll start to feel better soon and will get cracking with it again.

:rotfl: Neither of you but I wouldn't be surprised.

    Here you go:

    http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/discussion/what-do-you-spend-your-dooyoo-earnings-on/1652714/

I am shocked they are so casual about leaving the children on the playstation all day....!!! I am always amazed at some of the Mothers who have below school age children and yet can seemingly spend the whole day on there and rate thousands of reviews every month.

I used to write far higher quantities of reviews than I do now. I also (back in 2009 some time) basically stopped rating for a period of time. I make more money now for less reviews and actively returning all rates and trying to catch up the deficit from 2009 so I'm happy with that! I definitely recommend writing less reviews and spending more time being community minded as I have tried both ways and found this one that works best for me!

I do well in the level 1 categories at the moment. I'm a driver who loves jewellery (a 30% discount helps at several large jewellers), I am a mortgage holder with a flat AND a house, I work mainly for myself at home and part-time out of the home so I don't do too bad for things to review because of this, however, I do notice that some people (no names mentioned of course) will review some products (such as perfumes) constantly and the total cost of them adds up to thousands yet those people are not working and churning out x amount of reviews a day....

The long and short of it for me as that I thoroughly enjoy writing reviews. Writing reviews and doing surveys are by far the smallest of my online earnings yet I always find myself loading up Dooyoo to read some interesting reviews, learn about new products and give my opinion on things. Recently I have been spending lots of my earnings on Kiva (an interesting lending charity that I learnt about thorugh Dooyoo) and treating my nieces and nephews so I wouldn't miss the money if I didn't make it any more. Through Dooyoo I have been able to move on to bigger and better paid writing and I now have an 'article man' who is happy to send me articles and help me sort out the tax side of things too! All of this is through someone that I met on Dooyoo 4 years ago and since joining Dooyoo I have seen my confidence and my earnings sky rocket - not all from the site of course but via others I have met there.

Basically the point I'm making is being nice and writing slightly less works best for me! :) :T

I am on the site more than normal thanks to giving my part-time job the old heave ho! Not sure, as of yet, if I will go back to work at all other than for myself as I am seeing my earnings increasing more and more so I feel ever tempted to just continue working for myself and have slightly less tax stress and tax office related rubbish to wade through!
