  • So.. something I just noticed.. I posted an impulse review yesterday, pretty basic had what I thought the relevant info (not much you can say about a bodyspray) but included price, where you can buy it from, package design, scent etc.. it got a very useful... did another impulse review today with same amount of detail.. once again very useful rating on dy

but over on ciao I pasted the same thing and for the first time, couldn't be bothered pressing enter on every sentence to space it out a bit.. so although its the same amount of text it ends up looking like a really short review, and I didn't get as good ratings.. (a somewhat helpful and helpful ratings).. I've noticed over on ciao the times I don't press enter between the sentences to bulk it out a bit.. I never get good rates.. (or maybe it's just a coincidence, and I didn't realise that the reviews not decent enough lol)

But generally I found ciao to have a much harsher rating system.. and a lot more helpfuls given out compared to the usefuls on dooyoo

hope that made sense and you get what I mean :S it is late and I am tired haha

    Okay miwa.Stoopid question incoming.
Once I click on DOOYOO COMMUNITY & get the page below .....WHERE do I go from there to get who last rated my reviews ? What do I click on ? I asked the dog ,but he was no help.

  • haha milo I didn't think the dog would be of much help :P and it's not in dooyoo community but in my account, on the left hand side click on community activity (underneath my reviews) then click on who rated my reviews?

I had to log in to check :P otherwise couldn't remember what it's called haha.. now it's getting really late.. I should sleep.. g'night :)

Thanks to some encouragement from the SB'ers among you I've dug out my login details and posted my first new review in almost 2 years!

You could always comment to prove that you've read it, ask a question or make an observation, ect.

This doesn't prove that you've read it. Merely that you have skimmed it and then posted something relevant. People in the past, the most prolific speed rater I can think of who was permanently banned, was doing this on every single review.

Personally I would say to comment when you have something constructive to add, want to say something about the review that is relevant or perhaps ask a question. Just saying 'good review' etc isn't actually something that you can get banned for but I wouldn't recommend it either.

Also, with regards to how fast to read, reading 1000 words in 60 seconds definitely would be classed as speed reading/rating. I'm not saying that is what you are doing but best to slow the reading down. There is no hard and fast rule, if they feel you're going too fast you will know about it. I was once banned for speed rating for a week I think, about 3 or 4 years ago I believe, and so I have just slowed it down. Take the words in and don't skim just read :)

    Hope I've helped.

Also please don't take offence to anything in my posts, just trying to give frank honest advice of how they might see things (as I tend to know how the machine works). :)

I have noticed this as well. A few of my longer reviews got crowns on DY, but when I post them on ciao, I hardly ever get an Exceptional rating, let alone diamonds (which is not something I expected anyway to be fair). But on ciao people tend to conserve their 7 Exceptional rates a day on more familiar faces, if you get what I mean. As for helpful/very helpfuls, I wouldn't take it personally... even though it's likely some of the same people rating you 'somewhat helpful' on ciao were the same ones rating you 'very useful' on DY. You still get the 0.5/1/2p for helpful/ VH / E though sadly not for somewhat helpful. :(
