    Hi Strof.

    I agree with Jaffa. I am female, but had a partner exactly like your wife. He never changed. Sick of being the parent, working all hours, only to be resented more and more because he wanted things we couldn't afford. 19 years later I am still paying out for this man's debts that he ran up in our names. Eventually, you have to cut them loose. You are nearly 50. Your wife sounds like she wants to be a kept woman. Let someone else keep her. take your life back mate - you deserve it.
