Stolen i phone

Oh God, 2 months into a 2 yr contract and DS1 has had her I phone stolen. I pay £30 month and a fiver insurance which I have just discovered doesn't cover theft !!!!!!?! Apparently the new sim card 02 have sent can't be used in a cheap phone so is my only option to shell out God knows how many hundred quid to buy a new one? Any ideas? Am going to 02 shop tomorrow to try and sort it out but wondered if anyone has experience of this.

It can. If it's a micro/nano sim, just get an adapter for a pound.

For the future beware that many insurances not only don't cover theft, but don't cover children as well.

OMG Can it really? Is it possible you can perhaps post me a link to the adaptor thingy that you refer to? If I tell my hubby this he will be so happy. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

Thanks Grumbler, just read your edit - yes, I have had a quick read though the board and can see now that the insurance is effectively worthless (although she is an adult and a student) - Ah hindsight is a wonderful thing is it not?

iphones aren't the only ones that use a micro sim (although it probably is newer/more expensive ones that do) - there is a list here

Do you have Home Contents Insurance that might cover the phone?

Mine does, as does my Bank account...

worth a look if its an option...
