    Well £1.10 is worth every penny !!!!! , the proof of postage means nothing, eBay will refund the buyer as there is no tracking number,
    It is a lot of hassle to claim through Royal Mail, I have never had an issue with me selling stuff with recorded postage costs, I am not greedy and charge my customers the correct postage, I also have. A courier for over 1kg parcels which is next day signed for delivery for £6 so I AM CHEAPER than my competitors and ALWAYS have TRACKED postage ,

    If u wanna take the risk with POP then go ahead but I WON'T .
    Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

    No one at all has suggested that POP will win a seller a PayPal or eBay claim for INT, it will however enable a seller to reclaim their loss from RM if item is lost. Recorded also will not do you any good either though unless it actually updates online to prove delivery, and in many areas a great many never update at all ?

    If you believe every buyer is a scammer why do you still sell on eBay? Come the new rates with recorded being so much more expensive my sub £20 items are going to be so much cheaper than yours, so I can only encourage all my competitors to use recorded as it really helps my business thank you.

    I don't believe every one is a scammer, I DONT TRUST people, so that 95p or £1.10 is worth every penny.

    I Offer Very good postage rates, I am not greedy i don't even charge for packaging, I have 5 stars and over 1000 feedback I am happy with my postage costs.

    RECORDED MAIL is the only way I post, if u wanna use POP then it's ur choice and at your own risk

    Most of my items are sub £20 so I won't change, I may not bother with tracking if items go for more (within reason) as so much of my stuff isn't covered anyway as it is china or glass.

    I will have to see how it goes.

    Well you have just proved u send CHINA or GLASS so recorded makes no difference to you,

    But to me I don't send stuff like that and never would , so recorded is a god send to me ... Each to their own ,,,

  • It would be also worth checking if the proof of postage has "horizon certificate of posting" on it despite it has the receipting address indicated etc. An ebay parcel I sent was lost and I sent a claim to royal mail which was rejected. Royal mail said that they do not accept "horizon certificate of posting" as it is regarded as copy of the certificate of posting. I expressed my concern how are customers to know that they were given the wrong receipt by post office. Royal Mail's reply: I understand your frustration but I am afraid you have to take it up with post office. Still in the process of trying to get through to post office with their helpline always engaged.

    If you wrote that in good faith, refer them to their compensation policy: http://www.royalmail.com/personal/help-and-support/royal-mails-retail-compensation-policy-for-loss
    5. Evidence of posting for a lost item includes:
    Original Certificate of posting (provided automatically for Royal Mail Signed for™ items and Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm™ (not posted on account) and available on request at Post Office® branches for other items);
    Original Horizon certificate of posting;
    Original SmartStamp® or on-line postage certificate of posting validated at a Post Office® branch.

    Personally I'd prefer to have £1.10 x 1000 items = £1100 additional profit. If any "scammers" claim item not received, then yes there's a slight opportunity cost as you can only claim the postage and cost of the item back from Royal Mail (as opposed to the selling price) but I still reckon that £1100 will more than cover it. "Self-insurance".

    (Although from next week it's more, "fingers crossed" as I'll be using RM24 and RM48 which have no compensation :undecided)
