I'm going to finish work at lunchtime SSG so I don't have to rush. My friend is en route to her DD's. I haven't seen her for over a year so plenty to catch up on!

Another manic day at work with more and more work being piled on us - there just aren't enough hours in the day to keep on top of it all :(

It doesn't help when Mr SA is ringing every five minutes with trivia as I have the sort of job where you need to concentrate.

At least I've got a short day tomorrow :)

That aside have taken advantage of the Mr M offer of two bottles of spirits for £22 and got a bottle of Jim Beam for DS's Christmas prezzie and a bottle of Baileys to put away. Might get another two different ones next week and put them away for Christmas.

Waiting for a discount on Smyths Toys before getting DGS's prezzie - getting him a ride on fire engine (although I think a bulldozer would be more appropriate!)

Determined to get most of the presents by end November, fortunately not many to get.

  • It’s rotten that you keep getting swamped at work like that. Do you have a union rep you can discuss it with or do you think it would make no difference? Must be hard coping with all Mr SA’s calls as well. I suppose you’re too nervous to let them go onto answerphone sometimes?

Hope you’ve relaxed tonight with a nice glass of vino!

  • Are you busier at Christmas or is it staff shortages?

Your Christmas drinks should go down a treat :) Have a good evening.

Staff shortages Hairy - people leave and it takes forever to replace them. We're busy all year round (government department).

Had a lovely afternoon with my friend, passed too quickly sadly.

I've booked Tuesday off work. Carpet man is coming at 9.30 and I've got a team lunch. So by the time I got to work, I'd be there a couple of hours, then we'd go for lunch, then time to go home. With the day off, I can go into town after the carpet man has been, then go to the lunch. No point having the day off at home as the painter will be there.

Thank goodness it's Friday - I am shattered!

  • Mr M's spirits offer sounds good SA, might have to take a look at that myself.

    Boooo to being overworked

Glad youve had a nice catch up with your friend xx

  • Can’t be beaten - good times with good friends. :)

Foolproof antidote for shattered Friday feeling - more vino or raspberry gin!:D

    Happy Saturday :)

Been up a while, the downside of living across the road from a park is that people start taking their dogs on there from about 5.30 am, even though it's pitch black! All you can hear is the iron gates opening and closing and then my dog barks at every dog that passes our house. Yawn.

Today's plan is to go to WW this morning, do the cleaning, then hairdressers late this afternoon. No visit from grandkids today so should be a quiet one.

I usually buy Mr SA a beer advent calendar but decided not too this year as they are really expensive, working out at around £3 a bottle. However, Iceland are doing them for £39.99, about £30 less than the others, so have ordered one to be delivered tomorrow. Last year I had a wine one from Virgin but I wasn't that impressed with it as there were far too many white wines and I prefer red, didn't think it was worth the money.

Need to make a list of what I've spent out of my Xmas budget so far as I seem to have spent a fair bit.

Have a fab day everyone :)
