Thinking of you SA. Hope Mr SA is feeling better and am glad you got out and about a bit.
I think the taxi cab thing is a good idea, people here do it.
xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi, well done for npower doing the right thing and the OT being on the ball..that's good to know.
Yes do ask re the taxi firm. Sorry hadn't thought about that...I don't get a discount but always use the same firm and drivers. Massive relief as they are reliable and nice.
Really hope Mr SA feels better soon. Well done on getting some time for yourself and do think about some sick or compassionate leave. You need to keep something in the tank for when Mr SA comes home for good..caring is damn hard work as I know you know!

hi mrs SA please ask the ward staff to refer your hubby to social services .I did not know where or what to do when I ended up in hospital = daughters brought my hubby to sit with me while she was at uni hubby has brain tumour I had operation went wrong and in hospital for over 7 weeks!!#
we had social worker come to see hubby at my hospital bed side! we are now in system ie they know about us ! but 3 weeks later have not received any services for him but they will do house visit to see re safety. will also see if he can go on day courses /exercise etc
when I was sent home on 3rd attempt from hospital I tried to cope and broke down and rang local carers as mk council said we did not qualify for help as we have a 14 year old son. he should shop/cook/wash/and run house . I asked if she was telling me to keep son of school to care for us this was met with silence. you do not qualify for help!
Days later mk carers rang and could not believe this was response from council and with our permission rang social workers up and knew the correct terminology to arrange care for me short term care help with washing/medication in morning.
just need to wait and see what help they can give hubby.
tomorrow Wednesday a s/w is coming to see my son re "young carers" will update you.
Today both myself and hubby had hospital appointments. Ambulance transport is now in place (I have to ring to arrange quoting correct nhs number or they refuse to help) this has to have your gp backing!!
hubby needs carer with him on ambulance and all medical appointments - (me) but if powers to be at ambulance control realised I am disabled because of open wound vac pac pump dressing they would refuse to take him to hospital! yet social workers quote you have a 14 year old son who can look after you both!!
crazy world sorry I waffled on hugs to you please find some you time if only to lock yourself in the loo and scream.
be brave and refuse to take hubby home until ot has assessed home for safety.
once hubby becomes a hospital bed blocker social workers and others will find budget/time to help. but while you are seen to be coping social workers medical staff have horse racing blinkers on., and will watch you drown and break down before becoming super hero's and doing their jobs and offer assistance needed.
be strong and ask/ demand help. from a wife and carer who has got and wears the brain tumour t-shirt. pm any time Andrea xx0 -

Thank you all for some very sound advice and welcome comments
Andrea - how are you - I was wondering the other day as not "seen" you around.
Mr SA still not very good last night. I'm no doctor but to me he looks as though he has swelling on the brain. Hopefully the hospital are aware this could happen so are on the case. He was being sick yesterday plus his right eyelid is droopy plus he is very confused. He has had a bang to the head having previously had a brain bleed. Kept thinking about it all last night and didn't get a lot of sleep. Not had any texts or calls from him today, although he might be asleep or having treatment. He wasn't very pleased with me last night as he thinks I've abandoned him in hospital and left him on his own. Will see what tonight brings.
All being well I will be able to "repay" the flexi I used by the end of this week. Finance-wise - I have had a tot up today to make sure I'm on track with my spending. Had an expensive week last week with Mr SA being at home and all the extra stuff I had to buy so trying to have a cheap week this week. However, dog needs booster on Saturday - I've already cancelled and rebooked this once so will have to factor in the cost.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Big sigh - Mr SA seemed a lot worse tonight. When I got there he was just coming back from brain scan. He was being sick again and his right eye was almost closed. He had headache and could barely sit up. He then fell into a deep sleep. The results of the scan will be through later tonight so no doubt things will be clearer tomorrow. I'm just so worried.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

No wonder you are worried.
As you say hopefully things will be clearer tomorrow.

I've just had a phone call from the hospital to say the results of his can show a build up of fluid in his brain and he has to go back to the neuro ward at the previous hospital he was at before as he needs an operation to relieve the pressure on his brain. This has nothing to do with the fall on Monday it was the reason he fell. Feel sick right now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Trying to find a tiny positive for you, and admittedly it's hard, perhaps it's a good thing he came home and had the fall as it may have gone unnoticed for longer in hospital?
I hope you manage to get some sleep XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
