  • Ooh er with regard to DD's bedroom :eek::eek:

I expect the dog playing up because he was missing you SA :)

Ignore rude bus woman, she's just revealing her own ignorance. My BIL has a disability which people often don't notice and if he asks for help lifting cases etc at the airport, he can get such a look sometimes

Talking of Christmas, which we weren't, can't believe I logged on to Mr M site to put in next week's order and it said pick your Christmas slot - so I did and all the best ones had gone

Had a lovely bath tonight, I do miss my baths when I'm away. Apart from a couple of years ago we had a room with a jacuzzi bath, which was heaven.

The cat is being a pain. Scratching at the patio doors to go out, when I let her out she scratches to come back in. Been doing it all day.

Seeing your reply reminded me of gin Beanie :)

I was rather hoping to get a couple of bottles of that very nice Spanish pink gin we got in Ibiza from Lanzarote. They sold it in the duty free shops there but only in the normal size bottles not litres. So I risked it expecting it to be there at the airport - of course it wasn't :( So serves me right for being greedy.

The cat is now asleep on my bed where she'll wait until I get in then transfer to my pillow and start doing that claw going in and out thing on my head!

I am shattered! We decided to meet DS and family on a local park as it's such a lovely day and we could take the dog and pop in Aldi on the way back. What with the walk there, walking round, then the walk back it was 20,000 steps in one go. My ankle is throbbing.

It was a lovely afternoon though and there's a street food/farmers market there every Saturday, so bought the grandkids a gingerbread man each and a giant vegetable samosa for us. The stall holder gave us 2 samosas for the price of one so gave that to DS. I was surprised Mr SA didn't want a coffee from the coffee van. These sort of markets are lovely but they're always pricey, they weren't doing much trade and I thought if they reduced their prices a bit they might sell more.

Spent £15 in Aldi on the way home but got loads of stuff. I'm always like a kid in a sweet shop in there and end up putting more in my basket than I intended.

The good thing is Mr SA and DD didn't get round to the coving removal I was stressing about. However, Mr SA is talking about painting tomorrow and I really don't want to as it's my last day off work.

The plasterer starts on the hall and DD's room Monday - here we go again.

  • Sounds like you had a great time at the market SA, I agree with you about the pricing though!

Phew you've had a reprieve with the coving in DD's room :D

Yes thank goodness the coving experiment has been discarded! At least you didn’t have to end up at the A&E as feared!

After a long soak in the bath, I made a lovely veggie curry, then poured myself a glass of wine and put my feet up to watch XFactor. The next thing I knew it was 11pm, wine hardly touched. Oh well there goes another Saturday night! At least I got to watch Strictly while I was cooking!

Have loads to do today: take dog on park, meal plan, check finances, make soup for work :( lunches, clean up, finish ironing, have another look at heating timer, check DD's room is ready for plastering tomorrow and take pictures down in hall.

    Back to work tomorrow :(:(:(

Will be finishing early on Friday as meeting friends for lunch.

Then it's nose to the grindstone until Christmas :( although will try to sneak a long weekend in before then. New leave year starts 1 November :)

DGD is in a nursery concert in December and DS said he'd let me know when it was. Of course it now turns out to be the day of work Christmas meal, which I've already paid for. So in a bit of a dilemma as feel awful saying I can't go to DGD's concert, although Mr SA is grumbling about how we'll get there (train) and I know he doesn't want to go.

I might see if I can get my money back for the work meal but I lost it last year when I broke my ankle and couldn't go.

    Typical both on same day!

In the past I've missed out on a lot of things because Mr SA didn't want to go - weddings, parties, etc. And a lot of these were before he was ill.
