Hope you have a lovely day

Happy Birthday Mr SA, celebrating another year with each other, when you one of you has health issues this I hope is meaningful to you both.

Despite all the upheaval re builders, the prospect of a lovely updated home must be exciting....

So MR SA has seen another birthday we thought he'd never see :)

He's loved his day in town, coffee and bacon sarnie, shopping for new rain jacket, then burger and chips for his lunch. I did well walking quite a lot, ankle swollen but not too bad. The worst bit was pushing him in the wheelchair, he is so heavy.

I got some trainers for walking to work in plus some flat sandals.

Kitchen people came back this morning to remeasure after builder changed a few things. Builder, plumber and electrician all coming back on Tuesday. Hope they can start soon.

Payday today :) Will update finances tomorrow and plans for May.

Looking back at April it was a very expensive month - started with a holiday, then Easter, then Mr SA's birthday. Not good for AFDs, NSDs or weight loss I'm afraid.

On the plus side I've kept on top of the CC and cleared the balance every time I've spent something on it. I've also saved £139.28 this month, combination of VSP and regular savings account. This is just a slight improvement on last month's £134.01. VSP now holds £262.12.

I've started going back to the gym, only managed once a week at lunchtimes so far but intend to up that to 3 times a week in May.

Didn't go to WW again yesterday. To be honest as I'm a Gold member within 5lbs of goal I don't have to attend every week. Must weigh in next week though. According to my scales I've STS again. Trying to be good from now on to lose the 2.5lbs gain from the holiday.

    Plans for May are:
    1. 8 AFDs
    2. 8 NSDs
    3. Lose 2.5lbs
    4. Gym 3 times a week (home or proper gym)
    5. Smash April's savings target
    6. Get a date in place for the building work to start
    7. £400 for 4 weeks groceries - use stocks up first

I was going to add spend less but as the building work might start I'll possibly be spending a lot more.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

I am so cross with Mr SA. He's just cut straight through the wire of our less than one year old lawnmower :( He was pestering for a petrol one recently, despite the fact we got rid of our less than two years old petrol one because it was too heavy for him. Had a feeling this would happen and can't help wondering if it was deliberate.

Had a strop on all afternoon so donned my wellies and did some gardening. Annoys me that this is something Mr SA should be doing. I know he's limited with what he can do but if he just did a small amount each day it would help. No sign of Mr SA all the time I was working in the garden but as soon as I sat down with my book for a breather he appeared.

It will do me the world of good to have that couple of nights in London away from him to be honest. I know I'll be working hard but I just need some space.

Oh no to the lawn mower SA, is there anything you can do to have it fixed. Im sure my colleague at work did something similar and managed to have it repaired.

    May goals look good xx

Mr SA thinks he can fix it with a junction box (?) and insulating tape. I bet he can't. The electrician is coming out Tuesday so might be worth asking him. You can buy replacement wires online.

Have had a bath, face pack, painted my nails and had a glass of wine so feeling more chilled now :)

Mr SA wants to go for a coffee tomorrow. Can't face pushing that wheelchair again :(
