Thanks EE I can completely understand that he would be called in at some stage, they have to check people are eligible it's only fair - sort the chaff from the wheat so to speak. I work for a Government Department (not DWP) so I know the score on random checks. He'll never improve, that would've happened by 18 months after a brain injury, he's the best he's ever going to be :(

In other news did something a bit stupid yesterday with Amazon. I enjoyed the book I finished reading yesterday that I wanted to read the other books in the series, have one of them but not the book that immediately follows. So decided to order the other 4 from Amazon Marketplace, all around £2 each. For some stupid reason I ordered the book I already had!!!! Then somehow managed to sign up for a free trial of Prime. I thought I'd clicked continue without trial. Can cancel after 14 days so not the end of the world and the books will be delivered today but could've waited, not in a hurry. As for the duplicate book I will have to put it down to carelessness and only £2.19 so not the end of the world.

Did finances, squared up credit card, sent left over £5.97 to VSP so £106.56 in there now. Everything sorted then got text from DD - she wants to borrow £40 until her payday on Friday! Mr SS gets his PIP tomorrow so will be ok.

Spendy day again today - booked seats together on plane £52, this came out of holiday savings. Mr SA is just off to the shop to get me something for Valentine's Day - only Tesco Express so I won't be holding my breath for anything over the top!

On my giving to a charity a month mission, got some raffle tickets through the post yesterday for Cat's Protection so have bought the book of tickets for £5 and added a £5 donation. So that's my charity of the month :D

Going to hire a film tonight - Girl on the Train. Read and loved the book so have been looking forward to the film.

Spendy week ahead as am off on Friday, haircut first then meeting some friends for lunch. It will be my first foray into town since I broke my ankle so looking forward to it. Then Saturday we'll have to get taxis there and back to kitchen place as we have got to go and look at the samples. It's not on a bus route and we have no idea of where it is so don't know how far away it is from a bus stop.

Mr SA wants the Dine in for 2 from M&S for Valentine's Day so if they've got anything left tomorrow will be buying that. If not will be getting something similar.

Next week's plans are to have 2 AFDs (Monday and Wednesday) and 3 NSDs (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday).

    Only a 4 day week :T

Great news that you have plane seats booked:D

Unless they have changed things very recently you should be able to cancel the Prime straight away and still get benefits until the end of the trial period, see here.

    Thanks for that Maddiemay.

Overspent by £5.54 in grocery budget, not too bad and much better than usual overspend. New budget starts Wednesday.

Made spicy lentil, carrot and tomato soup for work lunches and butternut squash risotto for tonight. Mr SA is having steak. Done menu plan for next week, will concentrate on using up stocks in freezer rather than buy in. Mr SA spent £12.45 in Mr T on flowers and cava. Suppose I'll have to get him a bit of something now although he'll be happy with a couple of bottles of fancy beer.

    Happy Valentine's Day :)

Good day yesterday - got £100 bonus at work :) Tax and NI to come off it but very pleased. Will get in Feb wages. Just wish I could have a good shopping session but the ankle says no.

Did too much walking yesterday, went for a walk at lunchtime and paid for it last night as my foot was aching all night and kept me awake.

Got the dine in M&S deal for tonight. Mr SA has got steak, half of which has gone in freezer, I've got a fish cake starter as my main.

DD has had some red roses and chocs delivered!!!!!!! She has never mentioned a boyfriend, she never goes out, so am intrigued. Might grill her when she gets in from work but doubt she'll divulge. Hope he's got his own place. Would he be up for bribes to take her off our hands. Mind is working overtime. Hope this isn't why she wanted to borrow £40, that would be too sad.

In other shocks, Mr SA has tidied up outside the back door that he let get out of hand while I've been out of action.

    Good morning all

Still been up since 5.30 despite it being a day off for me today! Got a hair appointment at 9am then I'm going into town for a quick look around a couple of shops and a coffee then on to meet some friends for lunch at 12.30. Really looking forward to it and hope my ankle will allow me a little mooch around the shops. Still got that £50 M&S voucher from work and there's 20% off in there today so could be a good day to spend it. Also got £20 vouchers (also from work) that can be used in Debenhams.

Mr SA is super stressed about the consultant's appointment on Monday so the whole weekend will no doubt revolve around that. Tomorrow we have to go to the kitchen showroom to look at the doors etc in real life. Then hopefully the builder will finally come up with a quote and I can get on with my re-mortgage/home improvement loan. Ideally I'd like work to start before summer.

Finance wise it's the week when everyone gets paid but me - Mr SA's ESA and PIP and DD gets paid. Although it's quite handy when money comes in between my paydays. When Mr SA was working he got paid every week which was great. New grocery budget of £200 for 2 weeks has started, I've put £10 in the ISA and VSP now holds £118.96. CC balance paid off. Set up direct debit for bus pass as is £7 a month cheaper and I can cancel it as soon as I can walk that far again (probably another couple of months yet). Cancelled a magazine subscription that I can buy via clubcard vouchers. Tuesday was NSD 5/8.

Stocked Mr SA up with PJs and got myself some comfortable boots in the TU 25% off on Tuesday. Other spends have just been grocery ones.

Still no nearer to finding out about the sender of DD's flowers. I haven't really seen her properly as I go to bed about 9pm in the week and she doesn't finish work until 9. The truth will out.
