Well Christmas Day was boring to say the least. Mr SA slumped in his chair all day, wouldn't even come with me to walk the dog. He kept trying to put Top Gear and Storage Hunters on the TV but I wouldn't let him - not at Christmas.
Have done my Boxing Day sales shopping from the comfort of my sofa. Got a laptop, Internet security and Microsoft Office from Tesco Direct (not the yearly one) £319 the lot. Went through Top Cashback, used Clubcard Boost and of course got Clubcard points. Can collect it Tuesday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Sorry Xmas Day did not go as well as you wanted it to - it's always difficult when everyone seems to have a perfect day but let me reassure you that most people don't but they don't tell people about the bad bits (DH and DD made chocolate cheesecake on Xmas Eve but it was too liquidy and I could not serve it as a cheesecake so had to scoop the main cheesecake part out with a spoon and ladle it into bowls and then hack at the biscuit and give everyone a piece!! DD blamed DH for not following the recipe properly. It was so sickly, so in the end we just ate more chocolates instead!!)
Hope today is a bit better for you and not as boring.
Good price on the laptop - bet you are looking forward to Tuesday.0 -

Feeling a bit more positive today. Made Mr SA walk to the local shop with me and dog for a paper. He's wiped out now though. I'm doing some tidying up and freshening the house up a bit. DD bought me a fab organiser/diary which I can't wait to start filling in plus about a year's supply of Yankee Candles. The salted caramel ones are stinking the house out and Mr SA won't let me light one. Mr SA bought me some Clarins stuff (well I ordered it online and he wrapped it up). Got tons of free samples with it and can say it's definitely worth ordering it online for all the freebies. Need to have a proper look at what I've got and use it!
DS's GF was at the Next sale at 4am today! She's bought tons of stuff for the new baby. They are still visiting tomorrow for the buffet - if there's any food left as Mr SA and DD are doing a good job eating it!
And I don't care what Mr SA says we ARE going out New Year's Eve lunchtime to the local pub. It's about time I got to choose what we do.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Ditto. Agree that people's expectations run far too high...we all did very little yesterday and instead concentrated more on Xmas Eve. Made it all much less challenging tbh.
Thinking about watching another movie now. We were planning to go to North Wales tomorrow but looked at the flood alerts and police warnings  and will unfort be giving it a missIn the summer maybe

I can't believe this time last year we were thick with snow here. Although it's very windy it's mild enough to go out without a coat!
I know I shouldn't moan about Christmas, it could be a whole lot worse, we could be flooded or I could be totally on my own. Mr SA has always been a killjoy at Christmas. It's just that last year was so nice when we all went out to the local. I don't blame DS for wanting to spend time with GF's family, there are loads of them with kiddies for GD to play with and her grandparents own a pub they all go to and have a family lock in. I can't compete with that - a boring day with Mr SA asking daft questions and the dog hassling them.
Mr SA is asleep right now and I have just done my banking bits. Going to listen to Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes on Radio 2 now, they always make me laugh. I still miss the Saturday radio programme they used to do a couple of years ago.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
