Sorry , SA, it's so hard and so thankless to sublimate yourself constantly. Whilst it isn't Mr SA's fault, it doesn't make it any easier to bear.

Buy your laptop, ignore Mr SA's selfishness. Will he remember? If not, then life's easier. If he will, then tell him it's essential to youb both, in order to get the most out of your money, especially when it comes to holidays.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • I second what Satchmo! says. Impossible to manage Mr SA when he is like this I feel.

Spend the money on the laptop. Plan good things to do. Hide all ladders.

    Love to you XXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Poor you. Sending virtual hugs and much love.

Buy the laptop, and make sure you get some alone time between Christmas and New Year too. Xx

  • De-lurking to say: get the laptop. You deserve it. What are the chances of telling him that he has to have the carer back? From an outside perspective it seems like you could use the support. Much love x

Thank you all - your support means a lot to me and you understand a lot more than some people in RL do.

Mr SA has decided he needs a metal detector. He seems to think if he had one he could go all over with it. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I wrapped most of the Christmas presents today before realising I had no tags. I have become very disorganised just lately in everything and I don't like it. I didn't book a Christmas delivery slot for the online shop and now am stuck with a delivery tomorrow where it's too early to buy the fresh stuff and no room in the freezer as I didn't run it down. So I am going to end up shopping for the fresh stuff Wednesday or Thursday which is just what I didn't want. DS and co aren't coming until Boxing Day so need some fresh buffet type stuff for then.

Forgot to mention the new addition to DS's family is a boy. They had a scan on Friday. He's over the moon - one of each now. It's his birthday today - I can't believe he's 31! Where have all the years gone.

Another afterthought - Mr SA is due another care assessment in a few weeks. I'm going to see if they would consider paying the (ex) carer for a couple of hours a week just to get Mr SA out a bit, stop him moaning.

Good evening all. One more day at work to go :) It's very quiet there now thankfully as everyone is gradually breaking up.

Keep buying the fresh food bit by bit in my lunch break. Really don't know why I seem to think we need so much extra stuff - have spent a fortune over the last couple of days on extras. Apart from Boxing Day there'll only be 3 of us. One of my favourite ever Christmas Days was the one just before Mr SA got ill and we went to Skegness with the dog. It was fab, the roads were clear and the beach was packed with people walking their dogs. We sat in the van with a packed lunch. Happy memories! This year it will be just us and DD (alias Disgruntled from Dorking). She will no doubt moan about her presents and the food and how boring it all is!

  • I really hope your daughter doesn't moan about anything!!!!!!!!

Good idea on getting the fresh food at lunchtime, easier than all in one go and traipsing back from the shops.

Also glad you only have one day left at work. XXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Morning SA, your day out in Skegness sounds similar to one we had in Filey with the dog! It was a glorious day just a bit chilly, I wonder if it was the same day!!!

Hope your last day goes by quickly xx
