As for your Dad. Did you check both of your FB message boxes to see whether he'd put some kind of note alongside his friend request?

..you have echoed what a lot of people have said regarding dads being excluded years ago. I checked my FB account for messages but there are none.

The "others" folder has changed. Thanks to a more techno-savvy mate, I believe it's now called "message requests". Find it by left-clicking on the chat icon, then left-clicking on 'message requests'. If the box comes up blank [as mine did] then left-click on 'See filtered requests' - which brings up messages from folk who aren't on your current friends list. Hth. ;)

Thank you all. I got the Soap & Glory set - free with the points. I'll use everything in it apart from the lipgloss as my hair always sticks to it. But DD will probably use it.

There are some very good suggestions re my dad. DS said today leave be as my dad never tried to contact me before and there were ways if he really wanted to. I am so torn. I could do without this dilemma to be honest.

Been in town with Mr SA today but has been more of an ordeal than pleasure as it was very busy and he was stumbling all over. I can't believe how bad his mobility has got. It didn't help with the weather being so drizzly. DD has been looking after GD while DS and GF did some shopping today. She's a good auntie and is great with her little niece. I wish she was a bit better daughter, she is very immature but is getting better, she needs to be or she will be the world's oldest stroppy teenager!

Glad that you got the S & G set.
I like the lip gloss & shower gel best.

    Hi folks

Sunday was a rest day for Mr SA. I was catching up on the housework that didn't get done on Saturday. It did nothing but drizzle most of the weekend but has been really mild for December.

So back to work today but on a countdown now, break up next Wednesday until 5 January. Still really busy.

Decided to check Mr M & More points as I knew I had £20 Christmas bonus points, was amazed to find I had £50 in vouchers I didn't know I had! Very pleased to say the least! I do wish they'd tell you when you've got enough to redeem though.

Mr SA has had letter from DVLA saying they are contacting consultant re driving. He's not holding out much hope.

Half day at work today - lunch with retired colleagues. So had a nice afternoon. One of them is the friend whose blood cancer is back and has to have another stem cell transplant. She looks great despite being on chemo at the moment. Full day at work tomorrow then office meal on Thursday - there are 80 of us going! Should be a bit noisy!

Must start wrapping presents soon. I've had to hide Mr SA's and can't remember what I've got him, hopefully will find it all before Christmas. He is a devil for guessing what you've got him even though it's wrapped.

I think he's a bit delirious at the moment as he's going on about how he doesn't know how I manage on the money we've got coming in! He's never shown an interest before - ever!

Hello all - another week has flown by.

The work party was fab. It all feels a bit flat now.

Just 3 more working days then I'm done until 5 January. Mr SA has been hard work the past few days, trying to wind me up for some reason. He has lost all interest in anyone other than himself. When I was going to the work do on Thursday he said don't worry about me here on my own - and he wasn't joking. He rang me 3 times that morning, once from the park where he nearly fell whilst on the phone! Thankfully the ex-carer arrived and took him out for a drink. Another instance I was telling him about a new woman at work and a really awful thing that had happened to her a few years ago - he just laughed and had no sympathy - because it wasn't all about him. I can't even have a proper conversation with him at the moment he only wants to talk about his illness.

He was outside in the garden with the dog just before lunch while I was cleaning up. Imagine my horror when I saw him up some step ladders repairing the roof over the lean-to!! In the end I just let him get on with it, thinking if he fell then it was his own fault, thankfully nothing happened.

Good news in that I received my £200 carer's assessment cheque today. Wasn't going to tell Mr SA but I did and he seemed pleased at first. Told him I will probably buy a new laptop with it as my old one has had it. A bit later he said he should have half of it. I pointed out that I'm actually meant to be using it to do something like go to a spa or join a gym, something that gets me away from him.

He is really testing my patience at the moment.
