How about resurrecting the mobility scooter idea? A pedal trike takes a fair bit of energy, although I think you can get electric ones from Holland they really are expensive (lots more than a second-hand mobility scooter).
 A pony and trap would be fun, and replace lawn-mowing chores of course (yeah ok, that one's a mad idea unless one has legions of servants like Prince Philip! :rotfl:).
0915. ETA - Just been speaking to someone who sells bikes and trikes, both pedal and powered; he says MrSA would be much safer on a m. scooter because they are allowed on the pavement, whereas a trike must be cycled on the road. If you need another reason to scotch the idea, an electric trike [new] will cost upwards of £1200 (< that would be trade price).0 -
Hello all and thanks for your comments Robin on the trike. Fortunately he's not mentioned transport for a few days as the latest thing is his phone has broken. Don't know what's happened, I've tried to reboot it and restore it via iTunes but no joy. Fortunately it's still under guarantee and he can use his old phone while it's away for repair.
Mr SA and carer have finished the bit of the gardening project they were working on, it looks good, they've not done a bad job. The next stage of the project will have to wait until the end of the month when I get paid again as all June's budget has gone on pavers, bench and plants.
Diet wise - stayed the same this week. Not surprised as have a couple of meals out and fell off the wagon a bit. Back on the case now, pick up where I left off.
VSP now has £457.35 in it. This includes Mr SA's whopping £7.50 tax rebate! Should be at the £500 mark by next payday.
I've got the day off today as it's Mr SA's consultant appointment this afternoon and I don't want him to be on his own all day. He's been worrying all weekend. The carer is off today and he would've normally taken him out to take his mind off things. We never heard back from the tests he had back in April which I assume means there was nothing wrong. We'll find out for sure today so fingers crossed.
Back later with an update.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hope you and MrSA have an enjoyable morning together, and Good Luck at his appointment this afternoon.

Phew! He got the all clear again. No trace of Lymphoma
Next scan December. So we can look for a holiday around early September after school holidays and I've had time to save up of course. He was complaining to the consultant about his speech and mobility but consultant more or less said it's not going to get any better, will have to live with it as lucky to still be here. Consultant is very pleased with him anyway.

Great news, SA. In terms of mobility, does Mr SA have a physical/speech therapist? Consultant is speaking statistically, but a small percentage make remarkable strides through sheer determination. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Satchmo he attended a neuro rehab centre for a few months and had speech therapy and physio. He was discharged when they had done everything they could. His vocal chords are damaged unfortunately and the part of his brain that controls balance is damaged. It's easy for the medics to say he's lucky to be here but he wants his old life back. Tough going really. As far as he's concerned he says he was normal then woke up disabled one day. He doesn't remember the bits in between.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

On an entirely different note - I've bought a spiraliser. Thinking courgettii, etc. Mr SA not impressed - it doesn't make chips. Will let you all know how I get on with it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
