Thank you both.
Hi Ammeretto thanks for de-lurking to give advice. I knew BG would be over the top pricewise, I think they know it too as no one has chased it up. Pleased to hear that you enjoyed AAT course, I'm seriously thinking about doing something like this, it certainly wouldn't be a waste of time.
Lucky I'm pretty certain we don't qualify for anything as I earn too much in the eyes of anything like this and Mr SA's ESA is contribution based not income based.
Work-wise - manager told me today I am not indispensable. Bless her. Despite what she says they would be in the stum without me for a while at least. Even the top boss said they would struggle without me. So based on what my manager thinks is the way forward, I have been folding up letters and putting them in envelopes today. So that's a suitable job for an experienced PA? Although it was weirdly therapeutic doing something so mind numbingly boring!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
SA, if the envelope stuffing was at the expense of other work, please detail her remarks, just in case it comes back to bite you in the form of a grilling about why something wasn't done by a due date.
I'm talking from experience about a micro-manager bully. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Thanks Satchmo. There seems to be a lot of her type about unfortunately. She maintains she is "protecting" me from people who she thinks take advantage. Yeah right.
I think I'm spending too much time/effort bothering about work. I have two choices - go with the flow and don't let it bother me or ship out. There are more important things in life. Having said that I'm there 8 hours a day and I need the money unfortunately. Just annoys me that all was fine and dandy until this rubbish manager was set on - and I'm not the only one who's p@@d off.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thank you Beanie and you are so right x
Work has been ok as manager has been off sick (divine intervention dare I say?). Decided to just get on with it and ignore her, life's too short and at some stage she'll be moving on as the word on the street is she hates her job. I've got a lot of other things to focus on.
DS took us to B&Q today and we got a couple of pots for the new patio. We would've like to have got a nice new tablle and chairs but there was no room in their car boot. Mr SA has made a good job of part of the garden, putting some gravel down and placing a Buddha statue on it, it looks lovely, very relaxing. He did this with some help from the carer but mainly on his own, so he's done well. He's suffering as his back hurts and he's exhausted but he says he's proud of himself. I can't emphasise enough how much good this doing up the garden business has been for him. No sign of the gardener for a few days now and we haven't paid him yet.
Hoping to get a coffee shop free weekend, really don't feel like traipsing into town tomorrow but Mr SA is a creature of habit.
Still doing the 30 day squat and ab challenge plus have started counting WW points again using the Value Diary app. Would like to lose a stone before September as all being well we would like to return to Ibiza around then, finances permitting too.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Well we ended up in town today but mainly because we needed to pick up some planters to put the herbs in we bought yesterday. Resisted Mr SA's suggestions we go for lunch though. Saw a lovely bistro set in Wilko but it was out of stock. Typical when you want to buy something you can't get it. Went online and found one very similar a few quid cheaper so have ordered it. Hopefully the gardener will come back in the next few days as I'd like a quote for the next part of the garden. Surely he'll be round for his money at some stage.
As usual the weekend has passed far too quicklyI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
So glad gardener has helped your DH :J
Sounds good.

Hello folks, been AWOL for a few days, been busy.
Mr SA is fine and has enjoyed the garden stuff going off. When I think of all the years I nagged him to get it sorted! Obviously if you want your OH to do a job in the house/garden employ someone else to do it and they suddenly start taking an interest! Need to get another skip now for part 2 of the garden, the area from the new patio to the pond. Going to have some paving round the pond for a seating area as it gets the last of the sun - not that there's been much of that this weekend.
Finance wise - ok but all spare cash is going on the garden. VSP is looking good though at £357.46. Work is ok, although the manager is still being a pain. Who knew you could be frowned upon for doing too much work. Unbelievable!
Trying to stick to diet and exercise plan, have lost half a pound this week, whoopy doo. I start off all determined at the beginning of the week and start flagging come Wednesday. Would like to lose a stone by end of August. I have so many things whirling round in my head I lose focus easily. Still going to Zumba and enjoying it so that's something extra. Kept up with the 30 day squat and sit up challenges apps until Thursday when I lost my way with them a bit but I can pick back up with them. To say I am just doing the beginner abs challenge the exercises are quite hard, eg the other day it wanted me to do 50 full sit ups followed by 25 crunches, 25 leg raises then the plank. Goodness knows what the harder levels are like!
I've been meal planning for the whole week, not got any meals out planned for next week so should be ok. Also sorted out budget for next week, it'll be a bit tight but fortunately I've got a £10 voucher off my Mr M online shop next week plus only found out yesterday I had a £25 Match & More voucher. I never check my balance on Match & More as I thought they sent you the voucher. Checked it yesterday after someone was telling me how many vouchers they'd got and got a very pleasant surprise (for once).
Off to catch up with the other diaries now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Great result at Mr N's.

Mid week check in. Going well with diet and exercise, logging everything into Value app, determined at the moment. Went to Zumba yesterday and have picked up where I left off with the squat/sit ups apps. The sit up one is getting worse - 65 sit ups, 55 crunches, 33 leg raises and 42 seconds plank. I'm sure there's a mistake in the app and this is the hard level. It hurts when I cough or laugh.
Mr SA wants to have a go at doing the next part of the garden himself. I sensed he wasn't happy with another man muscling in on his territory. After a bit of arguing decided to at least give him a chance. It might take him a lot longer but it's keeping him happy and occupied and his carer is overseeing him. The skip arrived today so they've made a start. Still not heard from the gardener with his bill, he's obviously not in a rush for his money.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
