Thank goodness it's the weekend :)

Had a lovely lunch yesterday, it did me good to relax for a bit. Still not moved desks at work as I've been so busy I haven't had time to pack anything away. Everyone else who moved was given more notice so no one can say anything if I take a bit longer to move.

I've just had a tot up of my finances and I'm not quite as skint as I thought I was. I've just cleared my spending card so that's back to zero. Mr SA gets his money on Monday thankfully. VSP stands at £255.73, doing well this year, although I send my pay rise to this every month. I need to sit down and sort out a proper budget as it has been free range for a few weeks now. Same with the diet.

Today's plans - getting my nails done this afternoon, take the dog out and DS usually brings GD to see us at some point in the afternoon. Wonder if he's still wearing a hair shirt after last weekend's shenanigans.

    Hello all

Am now installed in my new office. It's great to be honest, desk is bigger, office is spacious and airy and the sun shines right on me where I sit. The people who sit around me are very friendly and chatty. So :)

Mr SA got his money yesterday, after making sure the card was clear, I put some money to one side to see us through the next 4 weeks and even managed to save £100. This would've normally gone on card repayment - what are these strange things called savings!!!!

Isn't this just typical - on Friday someone at work had a charity jewellery party and I bought a bracelet, paid for it on my card. Got a message from her tonight saying my card had been declined!? All I can think is she took the details down wrong as the card is clear and I've got £8k credit limit. Will check with her tomorrow but in the meantime this is very embarrassing for me as she will no doubt be thinking I'm maxed out on my card. I'm just going to give her the cash now but need to check she has my card details right because if she has then I will be ringing Tesco Bank to complain.

Mr SA had a heart scan yesterday, that's his last scan done, just got to wait for the results now. He's a lot better in himself, not as breathless or tired, I've even been going to bed before him the past couple of nights. Hopefully this means he was just taking longer to recover from a virus/infection than normal.

Mystery solved with the credit card - I rang them and the transaction never hit my account so it was never declined by them. They think the number may have been a keying in error. Paid in cash in the end anyway.

Woke up with a raging sore throat, aching all over, dizzy, headache, etc yesterday. Still feel rough today but slightly better. Annoyed as I had just started a new exercise plan and this feeling unwell just appeared from nowhere. I feel like every time I get something sorted out it gets scuppered. Temporary hitch though.

    Hi Sun.A, :hello:

Glad to hear the office move went better than expected; hope you continue enjoying the new location and friendly work-mates. :)

Boo to mucked-up CC payment - unusual that the woman selling jewellery for charity actually had a card-reader to hand?

Hope you're feeling better today.. Funnily enough I also woke up with a raging sore-throat yesterday. Only had pink Himalayan salt in stock - probably the most expensive gargle-mix ever, lol - but it did the trick! ;)

Feeling slightly better today but for Mr SA and his weekend coffee purposes I am dying upwards!

Robin - jewellery selling woman only had hand written card details not a reader. She admitted she could've keyed in the number wrong. Lesson learnt and next time I will make sure I have enough cash on me. Charity the money is going to is to do with the Sandy Hook shootings, her friend lost her son, so a good cause.

New desk in sunny position has a downside I'm afraid - I was sweltering today with sun streaming in, lipstick in make up bag melted! What's it going to be like in high summer? Fear I've inherited a desk that no one else wants to sit in for this reason. Office is on the top floor of a building with glass roof. Sweat, sweat, sweat.

Plans for the weekend - put my feet up and I must sort out my wardrobe ready for summer.

^^ Ok it's the middle of the night, umm - have read the above half a dozen times, but still don't understand?

So this lady wrote down your card details, took 'em off somewhere [presumably where there was a card reader] and then processed the purchases herself?
Wow, hope I've misunderstood again - can't imagine being so trusting with mere work-mates in this day and age!

Sandy Hook - something dodgy there; circulated on social media a while ago, at least two of the 'victim' 'photos were actually of people who died years earlier (one woman who was lost in the Boxing Day tsunami, and a child from another accident). Why? Did some families not want their own relatives' 'photos shared - or was it a Faceache spoof?

Bad news. Maybe it's going to give you frequent migraines? ;)
If HR won't support having blinds installed, I'd be very tempted to bring in a garden parasol to put over the desk... (You see why I did better SE than as an obedient employee, lol).

Any news on getting MrSA a scooter yet?

    Hi Robin

Lady at work is an agent for the jewellery company and processes orders all the time. I've known her for 15 years and she is definitely trustworthy. But I can understand your concern. And her friend definitely lost her son in Sandy Hook shootings. She has been on TV talking about the charity. So nothing dodgy there.

My first comment means although I feel a bit better, if Mr SA wants me to take him into town for a coffee I stiil feel too ill - do you get my thinking? To be honest I don't feel great today so I won't be fibbing.

Not done anything about the scooter yet as Mr SA is gradually getting back on his feet again and I fear getting a scooter right now might hinder his progress. He's just managed to walk to the local shop with me without having to sit down. I'm going to see how he goes.

Sunny and windy here so have got loads of washing on the line. DD paid her board yesterday so have cleared the card balance and saved another £100. Woo hoo! Have decided to start saving to get things done to the house. Going to get some quotes for the garden. Firstly I'd like a new patio so I've got somewhere nice to sit in the summer.
