What would Mr H say if you said by going to the counselling it would be investing in yor relationship and support you.

Having worked with a lot of men with depression I know its the stigma of going but all sad how much I helped and wished they had access to it sooner...

Here's hoping he will go... Hugs

Godd morning all, been up since 6 yawn

Up to now Mr SA is going ahead with the counselling so fingers crossed. He's been a bit grumpy the past couple of days, saying he's fed up of the carer, he doesn't need him, he's alright on his own. He'll be ok in a couple of days, he goes off like this from time to time - I think we all have times like this, I know I do.

Managed to get myself "told off" again at work over something so trivial it's a pity my manager hasn't got some proper work to be getting on with. Funny how the office was a great place to work until she arrived. I've got to the stage where I really don't care any more and will start looking for another job after Xmas. If Mr SA was working I think I would have left by now but unfortunately we need my wages so I have to put up with it . I've had another manically busy week with no help. My downfall is I get things done so everyone comes to me. I've heard people say go to SA she's really good, which is nice but it doesn't help my workload. Roll on Xmas when I've got a week off.

Payday next Friday so will be paying some more off debt. Spending card needs clearing first though so might not be as much as I'd hoped. Just keep chipping away at it. Split next week's grocery order into two Mr T and Mr M. Mr T has sent me £5 off £40 and free delivery vouchers and I get family discount from Mr M plus the £25 off if you spend £40 over the next 6 weeks. Also doubled up my nectar points at Mr S got a £40 voucher and used it to buy a new set of kitchen knives - much needed as the old ones were useless. They were reduced to half price too. Very MSE :)

Good news is I've lost another pound. :) Fitbit is playing up so have referred it to Fitbit who are looking into problem. Everyone raves about them and I can't seem to get mine to work properly - I'm fairly "techie" so I'm not a PICNIC (problem in chair not in computer). Hopefully will get sorted.

Have purchased an app that's very similar to WW one, counts points etc. Looks good so far. Also really happy I subscribed to Sunday Times as for £8 a month get the £2.50 paper, premium Spotify (saving me £10 a month) and Mr SA has stopped buying a daily paper as it keeps him in reading all week. There are also vouchers for meals out etc which I still haven't looked into.

Today's plans are to get Mr SA a much needed pair of trainers from town, so of course coffee will be involved. The Xmas market has gone up now so that will be nice to walk round.

Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

  • Sorry to hear about your rough time at work, there seems a lot of it about at the moment. I was reading on MiT's diary that she has been given a lower year end score for not meeting/exceeding her targets, when the only reason she didn't was because they took her out of her role to interview and train new staff! She is therefore penalised for being a good, willing and helpful member of staff and has a lower wage increase because of it! Madness!!

Hope you get the trainers and enjoy the Christmas markets Xx

Sadly the end of the weekend :( Mr SA got his trainers yesterday just £25 from Sports Direct but he had a real struggle trying them on, his feet seem to have gone awkward. Was quite stressful to be honest. Don't ask about the trip to TK Maxx! Ended up buying a candle advent calendar thing for £30 but it has 25 candles in glass votives and surely must be worth much more than £30! Tried to resist it but I really wanted it and I love scented candles so don't regret it. Then Mr SA held up this gorgeous fur coat in my size - been hankering after one for a while now. Tried it on, it was so nice - you've guessed it went in the basket, not too bad cost £40 and looks like it cost loads more. So an expensive day but no regrets. Christmas market was lovely but I got a bit fed up as it was so busy and I had the carrier bag with the candles in and it was getting heavy and I was getting hot and bothered. Can't believe how warm it was here yesterday for November! We'd only been home for an hour when DS and family came round. GD is really coming on now, giggling and wanting to grab things. We're going to buy her a baby ball pit for Xmas but the one they want is out of stock at Smyths Toys online and the nearest store to us is Derby. Will keep looking but don't mind going to Derby as I love their Westfield shopping centre and the train fare will probably only be £5 or less. Would love to go without Mr SA.

Today I have been pottering about, cleaning up and reading. Mr SA has been asleep most of the day. He had a fall tonight trying to have a shower by himself and I had to get him up off the floor. He said he was only trying to be independent so he's now fed up with himself. Also I heard him on the phone to DS (who has got some roofing jobs to do for people he knows) saying he would give him a hand. DS knows he can't help so he was no doubt just humouring him. Mr SA says he feels useless because DS needs a hand. Bless him.

Tomorrow I've got an all day training course which I've helped to organise. Not looking forward to it but it's got to be done. This coming week is the last full week before Xmas as the following week the Xmas meals start. I'm determined to make sure I have a proper work life balance from now on and the aim is to work from 7am until 3.30 no later.

    Here we go!

    Dear SA

I remember you saying when you last went on a trip to Westfieldon your own, it was treating yourself as part of the Carers Grant.... And that you promised yourself you would do it again.

    Think that's justification :T:T:)

That was a year ago BM, Mr SA was still in hospital and it was easier to get away for a day on my own. Anyway found out Smyths Toys isn't in Westfield centre. Will keep looking online for it to come back into stock but if not there are other ball pits to choose from.

I was on a training course all day today so the day has flown by. Got stacks of work piled up though and could have done without a day away from my desk. So the rest of the week will be spent catching up.

Paid the spending card statement off today. There are some more bits yet to clear on it but I'll deal with this at the next statement time.

Good news is that Fitbit are replacing my Fitbit Flex. Even though I didn't buy it direct from them. Their customer service has been brilliant. :)
