Just been looking at my bank account and credit card. Have decided will pay off the balance from this month's statement on payday next week then sort out what has gone on since that statement with January's pay. Trying not to put too much on it so shouldn't be too bad. Balance to pay next week is £256.82.

Went to Mr S's this morning for a few last minute things and it was horrendous. I'm at work today but decided to have a very early lunch break before it got too busy or so I thought! We will just be having a quiet Christmas at home and Mr SA wants a curry for his Christmas Day dinner - we've done this in the past as no one likes the traditional Christmas dinner anyway. We'll probably nip to the local pub for a drink and possibly lunch on Christmas Eve. I feel so stuck without transport - you don't realise unless you haven't got it - there's no just nipping to the shop, every trip out is a major expedition! Got a Mr A delivery coming on Boxing Day morning to top up the heavy stuff. Can't believe how much I'm spending on food/drink since Mr SA came home. All the weight he lost in hospital will soon be back on at this rate!

    Hello Sun.A, :hello:

Just catching up with you - unsurprisingly busy now MrSA is back at home; glad you're not tied to all the effort involved in preparing a traditional xmas dinner, curry sounds great. :)

Re the PIP form - if you've got a good Macmillan nurse, this is an area he/she should be able to assist with. Worth giving a ring to ask if they can come and help fill it out with all the 'right' key phrases. ;)

Hope you have a great Christmas with MrSA, and can look forward to his better health next year; you've both been given the best possible gift of all. :)

Do you have the number to phone to get the PIP form sent out?
Phone up & they do initial part of claim on the phone.
Apologies if you know this already.

    HI SA

If you have a Carers Association in the area, they usually have an expert who you can make an appointment with to come to the house and fill in forms. I got this for filling in mum's allowance forms and now she gets an extra £52 a week. The expert also offered to come and fill in her Blue Badge form if we needed it.

How she managed to live on £600 a month I don't know. She only told me that in August. Her allowance was backdated to the date of issue of the form, i.e. as soon as she had told me.

    Hope that helps

Thanks to you all for the very sound advice - heaven knows I need it at the moment!

Christmas Eve has been relatively quiet apart from we went to local pub for lunch and Mr SA went to loo and on the way back forgot where we were sitting and sat with a stranger! He has been rather confused today and not great mobility wise. Guess this is one of his bad days. Had some lovely messages from Facebook friends then got one from a Lanzarote page saying it's 23 degrees there. We would have been going there next Thursday under normal circumstances so :(.

Just want to wish all my MSE friends a very happy Christmas!

..Well it might have been earlier, but it won't be tomorrow, and the long-range forecast doesn't look great. Reckon you've a good chance of missing a washout this Three Kings coming, and will be grateful to be at home with DH. ;)

    Happy Christmas! :xmastree:
