Isn't Sophie the 19 year old who has just had a baby?

I am watching it now on 4oD (broadcast 11th January). Sophie was 18 when she had her baby. Her mam (Sue) was due to have her 16th baby shortly after.

If all the kids each had 16 children, Sue & Noel would have 256 grandchildren :rotfl:

If you type the mums name in to Google, her T*witter page comes up. How does she have time to tweet AND look after 16 kids! I don't use T*witter so can't tweet her and ask but for all of you who are wondering how she affords to keep 16 kids etc, why not tweet her ha.

Is their mortgage likely to be as much as that? I'm not saying it isn't, I don't know. The blog says they bought it 12 years ago, where I live house prices hadn't risen at that time. I know because we bought in 2001 and I rented out my old home instead of selling as it was in negative equity.

Also how many of the 16 kids are over 10? The current tax credit didn't come in until April 2001 and afaik, the previous one wasn't as generous. I remember when it came in because Miss Spendless was boen only days before it came in and I remember the fun of trying to get thru to add her to my claim.:rotfl:
The current tax credits came in in April 2003. Before that it was the WFTC which was similar amount (at the time, but over the last 10 years tax credits have increased massively), and before that it was Family Credit.

16 kids on a £30k income would get £38577 a year in tax credits! Plus £11507 in child ben. So that's over £50k tax free in addition to their earnings. And the benefit cap wouldn't apply as they are in work.
