I am constantly amazed at the amounts of tax credits people on these boards are entitled to. Almost as amazed as how little I've been entitled to on the few occasions I've been out of work.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

It's all about the kids. More kids = more bucks. Fertility was never rewarded so much as it is now."fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -

I agree with you. It's shocking what some people can claim. For some there really is no incentive to work and us workers pay for it.

Me too! Yet when you say how generous tax credits are or single parent benefits you get accused of being a Daily Mail reader, seen this many, many times on this forum!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I really liked the Radcliffes, I was not keen on the other family at all though, they looked like they need a good wash and some discipline TBH.
I've got to wonder too, since so many people seem hung up on them eating branded foods, that maybe they bought that stuff to look better for the cameras? If you know that there are going to be people watching and judging, maybe they want to be seen feeding their kids 'decent' food rather than all white label stuff! Who knows.
Their holiday was probably funded by the TV company's cheque and their night in the posh hotel looked like a freebie since the manager was so keen to get on camera and suggest that #17 was to be concieved that evening!
I don't have any children yet so have no idea about CB and WTC, and it does seem like they'd be getting a lot to my uninformed eyes; but I have to say that I'd rather see more big families like this receiving the benefits, where the kids are all healthy, happy, well loved and being taught the value of hard work, than a dozen small 'families' where the children are resented and neglected and the 'parent/s' survive on benefits alone and spend half their money on booze and cigs! .Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Look forward to hearing the squeals when benefits are restricted to £26k a year.0

Oh dear, we've gone completely off the topic I was hoping to learn about - extreme money saving! Maybe the 16-kids-and-counting family are not the gurus I thought they were, due to government help, but I don't think we can learn anything by proposing benefit cuts.
So far I have learnt that I need to find a local butcher who can undercut Tescos (previously I didn't know that any did!) and try the small farm shops instead of the fancy big ones.
I definitely need to try harder with my menus as I'm not getting below £1 per head.0 -
I felt so sorry for the children of the Radfords! They looked sad in quite a few scenes! The mum clearly was struggling, I thought 2 of the kids were going to end up under cars when she was out walking! There's no ways she can give attention to that size family, she's constantly doing housework, looks strained! There's not enough hours in the day to spend quality time, especially as she blogs, and spends aloof time on social networks!
Im wondering too about income, definitely very hefty tax credit payments dished out! Not mentioned of course!0 -

Do you have any allotments nearby?
If so go & ask if anyone is selling any spare produce. I get stuff for pennies sometimes.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0
