Nevertheless, she doesn't live anywhere near Dover where QT was broadcast from. Dimbelby allowed her to have quite a go at Diane James despite not having a noteworthy point other than shouting "disgusting". Usually the host of QT tries to keep the programme moving and swiftly moves on from irrelevant drivel. She had conversations with Stephen Twigg, works full time for the Labour party and to top it all off when the cat was out of the bag she changed her twitter account to give it protected status.

But yeah - just the normal BBC balance and probably unlikely - as you say that people are delibarately planted to shout pathetic things at the panelists :D

I think it's quite likely she discussed what she wanted to say in advance with other people in the Labour Party and wuite possibly Stephen Twigg. However, given it is a weekly program and quite a lot of people get the opportunity to speak I think it is inevitable that political activists will get into the audience and be selected to speak on question time and there isn't really any reason why they shouldn't - they are people after all.

If it was a deliberate plant facilitated by the bbc it's a bit of a rubbish one - surely they would have made a better job of it that getting her to do it. Further, it would happen all the time - whereas this seems to be a one off which is quite reasonably explained by random chance.

Don't say that to Bob. He will call you paranoid.

The point is that the professional politicians are supposed to be the gurning imbeciles up on stage - and they rarely disappoint. The audience is supposed to represent hoi polloi.

Smuggling paid party hacks into the audience, passing themselves off as members of the public to reinforce the points made by said gurning imbeciles, is what a fair minded person might regard as cheating.

    Or, if you prefer, astroturfing.

    .

Stop stirring! I made that point in Post #46.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

You're in no position to tell me to stop stirring. Use these three words to form a popular saying; pot; kettle; black.

Yes I agree but generally what is referred to as "immigration" issues are issues caused by EU freedom of movement rules - this being one of them. Without freedom of movement Butlins would still be employing British workers instead of recruiting cheap labour from Eastern Europe. And, under the laws and rules we subscribe to - they are not doing anything wrong. Political parties at the moment are promising to tighten up on this sort of thing - but that will prove difficult whilst still remaining compliant with EU law.

Another reason why I want out of the EU and a more sensible points based immigration system. Of course, those of us that want a sensible immigration policy (note that this does not mean NO immigration) have to get used to being called racists, xenophobes.....etc etc

It's a fate shared by Diane James, the Eastleigh UKIP candidate who beat the Tories into 3rd place. She and UKIP were called a "disgusting" party who "prey on the vulnerable in society" by a young lady in the audience, who......as it turns out just happens to be a paid labour party activist "randomly" selected by the labour supporter Dimbelby.

So "random" was the selection that she somehow knew prior to the show that her question was going to be selected and was bragging about it on her twitter page asking all her followers to watch QT.

What a corrupt shambles the BBC is.
I saw that and thought the young woman was brilliant. Who cares about her party affiliation....does that mean she is not entitled to express her views? Of course not! QT audiences are made up of people with and without party membership. The bottom line is UKIP supporters are xenophobes, in many cases bordering on being racists:-

So they recruit people by putting a bus outside a job centre and wonder why they get the British dross?

I've recruited a few young people in the past and a lot of the tradesmen I've used in the last few years have been clearly under 25. British young people are as hard working as their Polish counterparts if they want to work, and from the stories I hear from other people who employ young people the ones with jobs do.

They mainly wanted people who would work for a pittance in poor conditions, and were well aware they weren't recruiting the cream of the nations job seekers.

Although Butlins-es do usually recruit from the local area, they would rather take people from out of town as they are likely to be on the 'live in' contract. This includes accommodation and unlimited free food, but the cost to Butlins is rather less than the salary deduction from your wages iirc. Most of what is left just gets spent in Butlins as well.

Its hard work, long long hours serving people who often arent very nice for very little money with a lot of pressure not to put down any roots in the local area, as you find if you try and convert a 'live in' contract to a 'live out' one.

But the sampong thinks steviej and I are the same person as we both used the word 'seriously' so there may be some kind of paranoia at the heart of this...

Never said I did - I just pointed out that everything was not as it was made out to be.............

Never said she wasn't entitled to express her views. We've been through this earlier in the thread. All you're doing is trying to start the same argument over again. In fact, you frame that statement - as have some other posters to make it seem that I made this claim - so go through each and every one of my posts in this thread - and show me where I said she wasn't entitled to her opinion. Go on then......I challenge you.

Yet another example of a bigoted, uninformed attitude that thinks it is so enlightened. Like I said (again......earlier in the thread) that attitude has alienated half of the Tory core voters.

You should really read all of the preceding posts before dragging up the same old arguments and throwing in the usual words; xenophobes and racists - practically all you have in your vocabulary and you know nothing else. A distinct lack of thought and reason in your argument.

You really should change the record Moby.

I have skimmed through the pages so if it's already been said, apols but it's nothing to do with excluding British workers and whatnot...it as RT says above. They like live in as, true, all the wages ended up in the butlins bar plus I recall doing extra shifts and always being available for hours as I lived in (as we all did) so there was no 'got to take dog to vet, look after grandma, the bus was late' excuses as we were there on call 24/7.

The story in the mirror has been spun (and in not a nice way) as Butlins always recruited from outside the local area.....just now that reaches as far as EE not just up north.

Same as RT, I found it character building but a few weeks was enough :)

Yep, everyone got paid on a Monday (iirc) and they were all penniless and hung over by Wednesday. Most of the wages having gone into the Butlins bar.

I've never really worked anywhere like that before or since (thank goodness).

Edit: Tee hee, I was just remembering sitting around for the days team meeting at the funfair to start. They gave out Daily Mirrors for free and they were all sitting around reading them. A conversation then transpired that revealed that 70% of the team couldn't read and were "Just looking at the b**tard pictures anyway".

There was then a short conversation about how to spell the word 'ANY' which resulted in a final decision of "ENEY" which was quickly dismissed as "It doesn't b**tard matter anyway, from the people who were still sober enough to contribute and not yet stoned enough not to care (one of my colleagues who worked on the Dodgems, crashing was illegal as it wore the bumpers out so Butlins made everyone ride round in a clockwise direction on a pretence of health and safety, took to eating lumps of cannabis in his room at lunchtime as he reasoned it was quicker than smoking it and mostly made him oblivious for the rest of his shift).

I filled in my UCAS application that weekend.
