You can tell if its a fake ticket not only by the name (parking charge notice) , but by who the appeal goes to and who takes payment.

    Hi Stroma

Appeals go to PCN Parking Services, PO Box 465, Lavender Park Road, West Byfleet, Surrey, KT14 9BS or via email to appeals@paymyPCN.net Website PaymyPCN.net

    Thanks for your help.

I thought that one was council but obviously not, I will take a look at the signs next time I'm in Carlisle. Zoomed into the signs on GSV and can't see a BPA logo on that.

You have nothing to worry about but I will double check the signs no later than this weekend.

Thank you so much for your help.

I do have photo's of the ticket and of the sign, can't put links to them here as a new user and not sure when I will be allowed to do that, I suspect after so many posts.

That's a well-known private parking scammers' payment handling site; 'paymyPCN.net' was devised by someone rejoicing in the chavvy name of 'Duane' who worked for Roxburghe debt collectors (one of the main perpetrators of the threatograms that PPCs worry people with). Post #36 from me in 2011 here explains how we first heard about that!

It's all part of the scam. There is no 'PCN', not a real one.

And you could post your links if you 'break them' first. Such as removing the http from the URL before you post it here, then we can convert your links to a clicky version. :)

DO NOT APPEAL!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DETAILS! I do not see either of those firms on the AOS scheme list:

    http://www.britishparking.co.uk/AOS-Members

No sign of 'PCN Parking Services' and no sign of 'Car Parking Management (Cumbria)'. And no BPA logo on the fake PCN either.

So it appears they cannot get the registered keeper's data from the DVLA - despite what it says on that fake PCN piece of rubbish.

And yet..and yet... on the back of the piece of rubbish they reckon they can involve/offer POPLA and on the front it says they may apply to the DVLA (in both cases that's only for AOS members!).

Got a pic of the sign as well?! We would love to see their t&cs on their signage! :rotfl:

Send an email to the DVLA, with those attachment pics, asking ''are this bunch allowed to get my data, if not why are they claiming they can and referring to POPLA when I can't see either named firm on the AOS scheme list? Please confirm by return that neither 'Car Parking Management (Cumbria)' nor 'PCN Parking Services' could get my data as registered keeper. And if not, what action you will take to force them to remove the wholly misleading mention of 'DVLA' and 'POPLA'? A strong and detailed referral to Trading Standards by yourselves is required I suggest, at the very least.''*

    Email addy is FOI@dvla.gsi.gov.uk

    * edit - see below for other dirt about the PCN Parking Services website and claims and links on it. Add them to the DVLA complaint and you must also report them to the ICO and the BPA for using logos they are not allowed to use.

OK have spent some minutes doing some online digging. The address looked familiar, it's the one used by Roxburghe debt collectors aka Graham White:

    http://www.roxburghe.com/contactus.php

And here we have a new kid on the block scammer using that address too, calling themselves 'The Parking Ticket Company' and yet down the bottom of the page they are none other than 'PCN Parking Services'! One wonders what connection they have with Roxburghe then...are Roxburghe going to get data for them? That would be marvellous because Roxburghe are already on a sticky wicket with the OFT!

    http://www.parkingticketcompany.co.uk/pay_pcn.html

And on their home page you get this tosh about 'Government backing'!!

''A Parking Charge Notice ticketing service is the Government backed industry standard for parking enforcement on private land...''

    and:

''pay the fine of £100 ''

    and:

a general 'BPA member' logo - but no AOS scheme logo on the home page (but see below).

    and:

''We have access to the DVLA database to obtain registered vehicle keeper details...and have partnered with Roxburghe Plc''

and the 'example sign' on the home page shows the firm as 'TESGB Ltd' if you squint at the wording like I did:

    http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/tesgb

so having Googled 'TESGB' I think those names of directors look familiar:

    http://www.companydirectorcheck.com/william-taylor

So it's the old firm from the 'WheelClampingCompany'! Jumping on the rogue fake PCN bandwagon like all the rest.

Last but not least, just LOOK at their 'links'!!!!

    http://www.parkingticketcompany.co.uk/links.html

    BPA AOS scheme!

    ICO!!!!

Coupon-mad, thank you so much for your advice.

It gives me great pleasure to give you a link to a picture of their sign in the car park, it clearly displays their t&c's.

I look forward to you ripping this to pieces, just what I'm going to do with the ticket. Second thoughts, I'm going to keep it and now look forward to receiving all the letters and threats, I'll file them all together and show others, it will encourage others to do the same.

    Thanks again.

Hahaha, that's an old sign they have left up from when they were the WheelClampingCompany. It still talks about towing for unpaid tickets - which was unlawful even when clamping/towing wasn't banned!

Also says 'legal action may be taken against the registered keeper' when in fact they can't because they aren't in the AOS, so can't get rk data, would not have the address and cannot even allege 'registered keeper liability' at all when not in the AOS.

It is all pants, you will be pleased to hear! What company name is on the sign, if any?

So they have ticketed you from a different legal identity to the signs, this the dvla would love to have, also trading standards as this is surely a breach ? Complain to them go to your the local council website for the office that deals with this area
