O/S Daily Thursday 07 March

O/S Daily Thursday 07 March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

    Morning all:j:j

Its topping it down of rain here,
I think we have it for the day too.

Quite day here is planned. More resting of my wrist. After using it very little yesterday, It feels much better this morning. Most of the swelling has gone now much it dose still hurt. And when I use my hand. Even to type you can feel it pulling.
I have been having a look around the net. And there dose not seem Like there is much that the doctors can do for these tendon things. The best thing dose seem like rest. I,m now wishing that I had rested it at the start Instead of strapping it up and still using it and doing the tings that I have been doing with it. It Might now all be better again. Anyway I did what I did. And I'v paid for it and will probably carry on paying for it now.
I'v been using deep heat as you know. But I would like to ask, Do any of you know what else I can do of it? Any old readiness that any of you think might help?

In the subject of deep heat, Can you still buy Raljex ?? Iv not seen it in the shops In years ? You use to be able to get it In a stick ? My Dad always use to have it when I was a kid. He had a heavy manual Job. And sometime after a hard day at work he would use it on his back. It been years since Iv seen it.
Deep heat is the same type of stuff, I just wonders about the other one that's all.
The things that fill your mind when you can not sleep:D:D

I woke up last night at 2:30 on the dot! Good for the OCD that is.:D I then spent about an hour and a half awake.
I did not start the daily then the I did write on yesterdays daily.

I wrote "Night Shift":rotfl: But nobody joined me.

Well I'm off for a hop skip and jump about.

    Enjoy your day every one.:j:j

Morning Halight & all who cross/follow
I hope you are dressed Halight, I can't be seen chatting to a semi clothed man, I have my reputation to think off. Shut up all those who are sniggering, thinking that Halight's reputation is in more danger than mine!
I've been awake since 3 & got up at 5. Yesterday's lunch duty was a nightmare, year 10 being rambunctious, it took 3 of us to try to keep things under control, we radio'd for back up but the deputy head who was supposed to help was 'too busy' this translates into 'has no balls'.
DD took me out for a meal last night, lovely meal & best of all a chance to spend time with her. She is full of plans for her post divorce life, some of which make my hair stand on end, god love her. I'm so proud of her, she works so hard for her foster children and at the moment is struggling to keep her oldest in education, she is really fighting his corner.
During our meal I asked for a jug of tap water, we were given a bottle of mineral water for free as they 'couldn't find any jugs' !!!!!!, this is a hotel with a bar & restaurant!
    It's time I made hubby a cuppa.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • Good morning everyone :)

    Happy Birthday RedRuby :bdaycake:

I hope you have a lovely day _party_

Halight, you are on the night shift and early morning too today. Please take care that you are not violating the working time directive for online operatives :rotfl:

Managed to do some ebaying last night but not as much as I hoped, still it's a start. As the weather is forecast to be bad this weekend, I am hoping for DH to have his promised major book sort out but I am not holding my breath. Had a clean of the kitchen too and the hob is sparkling ... for 5 minutes. Why didn't I take any notice when people told me not to buy a black glass hob :o

DD is having massive problems with DGG at the moment so we have mutually decided to cancel Mothers Day this year. I can't be doing with pretence of lovely family days when they both want to kill each other behind the scenes. Hopefully it will all be sorted by DGG's birthday in a couple of weeks.

Fish out of the freezer for dinner tonight, haven't decided what I am doing with it yet because it appears to just say fish on the meal planner and fish on the freezer bag, so I think that means I don't know what it is until I open it!

Time to get going for work, it's raining and cold and oh I really want to go back to bed.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning All

Didn't wake till 6.30 which is a miracle! It's raining here which is a shock to the system, not seen the rain for about 3 weeks!

Not much to report here, getting ready for work soon and then hospice later. DD working till 8 so probably no dinner needed here, she can get something when she comes in.

    Happy birthday Redruby!:bdaycake:

    Take care. XX

Morning all, rainy here and grey today. Not too cold though.
Seem to be getting that cold that's going round. A few errands to run this morning then over to see my son. When I get back I must hoover.....after the clear out, there are 'bits' everywhere!
Had a lovely lunch with my friend yesterday, setting the world to rights and catching up on what's been going on.
Lunch will be a sandwich and dinner some pork and loads of veg.
Gradually beating the washing pile into submission, but then will come the ironing. Oh joy!
    Happy Birthday Redruby.
    Hugs to all.

    Morning all,

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, you are very kind :T, going to wizz through and tidy up this morning, mum is coming down for coffee and cake later on.

DD and OH at college / work today so I shall spend the day doing nice things, might have a hot bath / face pack type of thing, then either watch a nice film, or sit and read my book this afternoon.

Dinner tonight will be something with chips, we are going to have a takeaway at the weekend with the family to celebrate.

Very little OS today, but then I am sure its illegal on your birthday

    Have good days all xx
