I've tried to claim over £3100 including interest and have gone through all the stages including MCOL. The bank have defended the claim with an essay of about 9 points. They have never offered me any settlement and a week ago I got a letter from MCOL (Northampton CC) they are transfering the case to my local County Court.

    1) Has anybody else had the same problems with LTSB?

    2) Do I need to contact my local County Court?

Abbey have responded to my claim via money claim online. They are defending all of the claim - what might happen next? Has anyone been though this? Any advice?

You should hear from the court, as the above post by einyuk, and/or you may hear from the bank's solicitor asking for further information as this thread...

You may just get a court date and will be asked to prepare a court bundle, you'll find a link to all of these threads in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.

But hopefully you may just receive an offer from the bank.

I have today heard from Nat West Bank that they are going to fully defend my bank charge claim and they have instructed a massive firm of solicitors to act for them. Please help- I am terrified of what is going to happen in Court as they clearly intend a full defence and to make me look and feel like the local idiot. Has anyone else been through this and can they offer any advice

    Thank you

Yes, and they can. All you have to do is read the article in the website and the relevant forums here.

BTW, they aren't sueing you. They are defending your claim against them, which they have every right to do.

It isn't exactly a massive firm of solicitors, either. It will be their "in house" firm, not a "real" solicitor's practice. Mind you, that means that they are financial specialists. And expect them to play rough. The gloves are off now and, to continue the boxing analogy, the exchange of letters was just a sparring session.

When reading the article and forums, concentrate your efforts on the parts about your "court bundle". You need to start getting this up together now.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

As you can see from the above posts many things may happen next. You might get a letter from Cobbetts asking for further information, check the link above but basically you send them off your list of charges again even though you may have sent the bank this information on several occasions. Its not a bad idea to also send the long version of your Particulars of Claim which you'll find in the Reclaim Help Thread, linked in my signature.

You'll also find the link to the NatWest thread in there and there you'll find lots of people in the same boat at the moment.

You will hear from the court as to a court date and what information they will want from you and at that stage you can read the thread about the Court Bundle which is also in the Reclaim Help Thread.

On the 13th day of issueing my judgement I received a letter this morning from NCC stateing the the Halifax were to defend my claim in the courts. I have read that I should receive a pack from the courts. Is this the case. as I am concerened that the Banks are now getting clever on these cases and they might award in favour of the Halifax.
