You should hear from the court, as the above post by einyuk, and/or you may hear from the bank's solicitor asking for further information as this thread...

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=391640

You may just get a court date and will be asked to prepare a court bundle, you'll find a link to all of these threads in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.

But hopefully you may just receive an offer from the bank.

Basically to wait to hear from the bank or court as above.

My banks (cooperative) solicitor has written saying they are going to defend my claim and enclosed is a sheet of paper they call a 'response pack', at the bottom of this sheet is 'acknowledgement of service'.

I just need to know if there is anything I need to do with this as it states "if you do not file an application to dispute the jurisdiction of the court within 14days of the date of filing this acknowledement of service, it will be assumed that you accept the courts jurisdiction and judgement may be entered against you."

I know nothing about court proceedings and dont want to mess it up at this stage....please help!

Let me get this straight, you took a large bank to court yet you know nothing about court proceedings?

Didn't you do any reading up on the subject before you dived in?

Ha, this might be interesting. The acknowledgement of service is for the DEFENDANT to fill in and return to court. Now if the solicitors have sent you their copy what have they sent to the court?

Are any of the boxes ticked? It may just be a copy of what they have sent to the court.

I would spend the next couple of days doing some serious reading up.

..the box that is ticked is the 'i intend to defend all of this claim' box and in the signature box is typed the name of the solicitor by the civil litigation officer.
Do i need to do anything now or just wait?

This is a copy of the banks Acknowledgement of Service. It's been mailed to you for information not for you to do anything with it.

Given that it has "defence" and "defendant" all over it and you are the "claimant" it should be clear.

Seriously, you need to do some reading up on procedures or you are an accident waiting to happen.

Thanks, I have been reading up and will continue 'doing my homework'..although I'm sure I am not the only one who finds this all quite confusing.

Rejected first offer, decided to take them to court. Feeling very worried about this as they have today put in a defence. I have no idea what to expect and don't know what a court bundle is and all the other jargon that I keep reading. Please can somebody give me some advice as to how to prepare. Also how long does it take for court dates to come through?
