I wasn't good last night for my curry - had poppadom, chicken pakora, pilau rice and lamb dopiaza, chocolate mint that you get with the bill and about 6-7 glasses of wine!! (although I did say no to the garlic naan)
Okay, I know my downfall is socialising and drinking, because when I came in and starting picking at what we had in the fridge (because I was drunk).
On the upside though, my friends have cancelled pizza hut tonight and I have decided that today is the start of the new me, on a clean slate. I am going out tonight and will only drink diet coke (maybe a couple of vodkas). This week I am on the WW no-count plan. I have just made a jacket potato with lf cottage cheese, chopped peppers, onion and tomato (and it is yum- much more satisfying than super noodles!). Shamefully it is my first meal of the day (only got up at noon).
Is anyone else on here doing WW? I noticed a lot of you are doing SW, but that never worked for me.£[strike]4,500 [/strike] 4,313.42 Loan (last payment Oct 2009!)

Went out for few drinks with DH last night, good to get out. Had 2 Irish coffees though

BB, thanks for the recipe - will try it tomorrow.
To add your weight, you just edit your signature. If you scroll to the top of the page and look just above the thread you will see the link "Quick Links". Click on that, come down to "Edit Signature", and you're away typing what you like.0 -
Hi peeps:D I find it much easier to stick to if you plan the menus and buy for those accordingly, if you get a WW or SW recipe it gives you the ingredients but I do what Lois does and buy more so that you can freeze it later or make it again another day....
I love those ryvita minis ajax especially the sour cream and onion:D0 -
Feeling more up beat now even if it is raining. :jThanks for everyones words of encouragement last week. I am back on the wagon and feeling good. Just done my usual freezer stock check as I do meal plan each week it helps me keep to budget and not throw food away. I do it weekly though and it depends what we fancy but cal counting in advance sounds a good idea.
Found 3 donuts in the freezer and got them out thinking the kids would eat them but OH walked in and put them straight in the bin, "saying better to throw them then carry them around as they will go straight to your hips" I am so against throwing food out now even when I will never eat it. Does any one else feel the same? So it was good he did it for me!!!
Oh well got to dash kids want to paint at least its not fattening!0 -
Hi Marion
IHaving now switched to calorie counting I'm not following SW to the letter anymore, and I've reduced my portion sizes and I don't eat as many snacks - fruit can mount up the calories very quickly so I restrict that, and sometimes I would have a HE left over in the evening and have something to eat in order to use it up. I've knocked evening eating on the head now, unless I'm genuinely hungry - I can't sleep with a rumbling tum!
I do still find myself sticking to measured amounts of bread, potatoes and cheese, but I've increased the amount of breakfast cereal I have (50g - what a luxury!!)
Good luck with your remaining target - stick with us, you can do it if you think of it in small chunks.
LL
Thanks for the wise words LL! I know that SW works but I just want it to work faster!!:o I, like you, am now eating smaller portions of food - but I think that it is a good thing. I am perfectly satisfied with the amount of food I am getting now so I might as well train myself/my body to get used to what is a "normal" portion!:o
I will continue to go to the classes however because I need the group support and the knowledge that I will be weighed!
As ever
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Hey - wouldn't it be funny if you were both going to the same wedding!

Hi all
I've had 'the nod' from Nile, our Board Guide, that as we've exceeded 1000 posts it's time to start a new thread, so Lose Weight 13 here we come...!
I'll set it up later - does anyone have any links that you'd like me to include?

What a fabulous bunch of folk :T . Thank you so much dellybelly, Lois, Brighton belle, and Victory for all the advice on menu planning. You have inspired me and I'm going to give it a go :j Later on I'm going to go through my cupboards and freezer to see what I've got, then think of some meal ideas and sort out my shopping list. It seems so obvious when I see it written down by you all, but as I've mentioned before common sense just isn't common enough with me :rotfl: . I really am ashamed of the amount of food that I waste, it's not that I'm rolling in money either, it's plain laziness!! So thanks again my little online chums. I will also print a calendar if I can find one; when you mention outlook delly do you mean outlook express, because I can't find it there, sorry to be a pain
...
...Marion I was quite stunned when I read of the amount of calories that you'd had and still managed to lose weight. Don't cut your calories to too low a level at this time though, just lower them gradually as your weight comes off, and don't think too far ahead either as it can seem pretty daunting. You're doing great, so keep it up :T ...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

petrichor - unfortunately no. It's in the full version of Microsoft outlook. We had outlook express but upgraded to the full package before I realised we could get the same thing on my google accounts. I know you don't need an invitation to get google e-mail anymore, why don't you sign up and just use it for the calendar.
HEY! since we're all trying to menu plan, why don't we share ideas? I always get stuck once I get past the usual dinners...... It doesn't have to be a huge addition to the thread, just a once a week post like we do for weigh in. It'd be more helpful than the menu planning thread on OS cos it'll be lose weight recipies.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
