    Well done ~evanesco~ :j and ...

... ajax 4lbs!!!!:j :j don't knock yourself, you deserve to lose it (although reading your post's this morning I think you're losing it completely qvtrbqq.gif :rotfl: :rotfl: ) I've never tried quorn, I think I've heard too many negative things about it's taste to give it a try, but I suppose at that price it wouldn't be too big a deal to buy some and throw out if I don't like it...

...Victory I find drinking black coffee to be the best thing for cystitis (hope you're feeling better today), I've never known it to last as long as you've got it...

...delly By now you will have had a successful interview :j and will be feeling a heck of a lot better today. The tiny gain this week isn't the end of the world...

...Honey I'll not continue in the same vein as the common folk here  :rotfl: :rotfl: I had a very strict upbringing and I'm not all to sure what's being referred to :rotfl: :rotfl: . It must be hard to live with your parents AND to keep to a diet. I hope your house gets finished soon, I wouldn't be able to cope...

...I've put myself on the July challenge too, should just be about right I think

Mrs Suggs and I have been playing Kerplunk of late :) oddly the balls drop move like a helter skelter these days, I remembered, I maybe wrong, that years ago, the marbles just dropped?

... there used to be a girl at work who was known by the other girls as kerplunk because of the number of [strike]pric[/strike] ..... nah, probably best not to continue with that.

Sticking tenuously to food, has there ever been a better conversation than:

    "Is that a pie?"
    "It's an apple crumble"
"A chicken and mushroom apple crumble?"

... sorry to anyone who doesn't watch Big Brother there but it tickled me. :rotfl:

Emptypocketz would being a relatively good girl on your Indian night totally ruin things?

p.s. as we're now on 1014 posts, maybe we should think about starting Lose Weight 13?

    Hi Lois

I just spotted that I made the target section of your chart :j :j Thanks!

As it's the 1st July on Sunday why not start the chart then, but it's up to you as you are the LW TECHNO BABE :T ...

    ...When you mentioned this ...

...Some diets start off with extremely low calorie intake to kick start the weight loss ..... The kick start is a good motivator, and once you've lost the first half stone you're likely to want to keep going (if you survive that long!)...LL

...it made me think back to the dim and distant past :o when I first tried to lose weight, and all the diets started off by restricting you to 1000 calories a day  no wonder I used to fail after the first few weeks. Thank goodness that more thought has been given to the matter these days

I gave up coffee ages ago only drink hot lemon, it is lasting this long because of the *&^%%^& tablets that don't suit the diabeties and affect the sugars so the combination of it all makes it last so much longer:D

petrichor Are you going to loose another 5 lb and then that is it?

If you are going to start dieting empty you need to realise that indian take-aways and pizzas are going to come up all the time, it is up to you to decline, avoid, refuse or try and combine it within your diet calorie intake, I personally avoided as cannot be trusted to eat just a little:rotfl: :rotfl: but it is down to the individual to know how they can cope within that situation.

It is always a good idea to tell the people around you that you are trying to loose weight so not to invite you to this and that and maybe do something else like bowling or a cinema visit that does not include food or drink but is still fun to do and you don't have to feel left out....

  • Thanks Victory/Ajax - I think I will still be good tonight, I can opt for diet coke (with vodka) instead of wine, and a tomato dish (steer clear of the korma I think!) with boiled rice perhaps. Not sure what to do about pizza hut tomoz though!

I will try and mention it to my friends, but a few of them are bigger than me and I don't want to make them feel bad (also, all I ever get is "you don't need to lose weight!") but if you are not comfortable within yourself then you have to do something.

Cheers for the advice - will try my best!! x

  • Oh, and thanks Petrichor, I have only just read your comment from yday. This month challenge sounds like a good idea so I will add myself to the list if that is okay - so the aim is to lose 5lb this month? Is that from now to end of July? Thanks - oh I feel excited now!

Not sure what to do about pizza hut tomoz though!

Ooooo, I think I may be able to help a bit with the Pizza Hut thing!
We went last Saturday, and they do have options that ARE NOT PIZZA!! :T

I rode the wave of ridicule, and went with spaghetti bolognase, and I didn't add my own cheese.
It still was carbohydrate, and still not brilliant on health side but in comparison to the cheese that was dripping off of everyone's elses pizza I felt quite virtuous. Also, the fact that you add your own cheese instead of it being hidden in the crust or acting as a base was the life-saver for me.

My biggest weakness was cheese, so I felt a minor victory by having none.

Plus the portion was slightly smaller, and was just about right for me, whereas the lads (just me and five blokes) were struggling with their pizzas. :p

I hope this helps. I always get a bit excited when I try to help... :o

... lol empty are you sure you picked the right week to start dieting? As for having bigger friends, you could be their shining light. Wise about chucking the korma :)

They did order the 3-4 people size I think. Something about eyes being larger than stomachs I think:D

Speaking of which, be warned emptypocketz, they did try to feed me their leftovers when I finished mine... Your friends may be slightly less uncouth though... :p
