What do you guys eat for snack attacks? I ate a jacket potato two hours ago and already I feel like eating, I hope I can decrease my appetite!
... personally I don't snack on a non-work day and have two lots of fruit on a workday. The only exception is when I haven't used both of my B choices, then I have a Hi Fi bar in the evening.0 -
Can I ask what people think about cheing gum as a way of not eating real food? I can go through a whole packet in a day in an attenpt to stay away from the vending machine at work but I've heard it actually makes you hungry so am trying to decide if I would be better steering clear of it.
an ex of mine used to swear by it, and got down to a size 8..... can't swear it was all down to the Orbit though. I just found that it made my mouth ache0 -
Hello
can I join this months challenge please. Thanks very much to a warm welcome from Petrichor a few weeks ago. I've been following you all since but don't spoken up again. I've lost 9lbs with SW since 8th May but have another 26lbs to go  and know I need every bit of help along the way.

Hi,
I would really like to try again next month. I haven't done very well this month and I really want to try harder to achieve at least 5lbs next month. I have been put on new meds by GP which cause weight gain so I am fighting a very difficult battle. I really do appreciate your help and encouragement but have found getting to use the computer very difficult now that I have all my family plus friends home from uni. They will let me use the computer but then sit beside to me read what I am doing so haven't been around on here as much as I would like to.

Hi Guys,:hello:
Thanks for the good luck messages. The interview is now over and I have to wait till next week to hear how I did. There were 5 of us in for the job so I don't have any great expectations of getting it but it was good experience. (I hate interviews and totally panic - but I think it did ok this time).
I've been thinking about how I've been doing this month (well done Ajax on 4lbs off by the way! and all you other losers of course) and I think it's down to lack of planning. .... If you fail to plan, then plan to fail - think I heard that from one of my WW leaders once, So I might set myself a menu planning challenge as well. 2 weeks from OH pay day and we're skint again, so I need to menu plan to make sure we have money left over.

Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Sorry for posting again so soon, but I was just thinking about how everyone has to try to live a normal life whilst trying to lose weight, most of the time we know in advance when meals out and parties etc. are coming up. How about posting them as part of your challenge. EG:
July 1st : Mil's 60th birthday
July 11th : friends wedding (when lots of alcohol will be imbibed as I haven't seem my friends in AGES)
July 21st to July 28th: Family holiday in Bundoran (soggy Irish seaside town) .
Ok, so this is the challenges I have to face this month that I know about and still try to lose 5lbs. Now that they're up there in Black and white, I can start planning of how to get over them without a huge weight gain. (as in, drive to the wedding, bring my own food to Bundoran, offer to drive to MIL's birthday thing.
Anybody else have plans ahead this month?Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hello ajax - was it you raving about your new slow cooker the other day?
I'm a recent convert too. Got a couple of tasty low point recipes for red days (if you eat meat) if you are interested.
Poohbear: you have my sympathy re the drugs: I too am on medication that affects my weight - mine makes me very hungry, therefore I have put on 2 stone. It's a difficult one isn't it. So far I seem to have found an anwer in the SW way of eating - which allows me to eat a lot but somehow (and I don't understand how) the weight is coming off eating according to their rules.
And there seems to be quite a few of us here who are limited in the excercise we can take so every pound is a huge achievement.

......... BB yes it was me banging on about the slow cooker. :T :T :T
Unfortunately I don't do red days (vegetarian here) but will gladly take your recipes (if that's ok) as Quorn do products which substitute very nicely.0 -

I would love to plan my menus too! The other week I mentioned this and Lois you said you managed to do it (I'd told you that I would buy stuff and have to throw stuff out of the fridge to make way for it) so perhaps you could enlighten us please? Do you plan before you buy or vice verse? etc etc I went on the OS board and they seemed too advanced for me and I was far too ashamed to ask for help
, I would prefer to keep it in the family
.
Apart from dieting, which is the only thing that I seem to be in control of, everything else seems to be going belly up at the moment
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
