Hi, I'm really sorry for neglecting you with a proper update. Just been sooo busy
I've still not been into the attic to check the inverter, but I am going to invest in a monitor so I can see it from the comfort of my chair
I have trained my 3yo to go & check the meter and tell me when the red light is on! He comes and says 'mummy, the lectric is three & holds 3 fingers up!'
So, in our first week we have generated 106.03kwh :j That's about £15 of FIT's payments!! - we generated 25 units today :j:j And we've only used (been billed for) 29 kwh :T
I've done an extra couple of loads of washing, due to sick children and a few days of washing held back  I've been charging things like ipod's, phones, laptops, dyson during the day. Was a bit annoyed that I didn't plan dinner better tonight, as didn't eat til later & had to pay to cook food  - After all that free electric during the day!! I'm quite pleased that we've managed to generate 3 times what we have to pay for though. It's not even been a particularly nice week.
Hoping to get my Solar Immersion installed next week then I can stop heating the water in the evenings, as really only need it for the kids baths, so it doesn't need to be that hot. Then get the gas turned right down next month, without letting hubby know
I'm thinking there is a gap in the market for an iphone app, you put a pin where your roof is & get a sun report each day telling you the best hours for your panels - then i could set the timer on my washing machine to start at the sunniest timeSeriously, if I knew where to start - I would!
Thanks again for all your help and advice. Happy generating :beer:0 -

I haven't been in the loft either yet but I can see it's all working as, apart from the red light flashing, my import meter has gone down from 27561 to 27500 this week, and my generation is now 130.39. Am getting used to putting the D/W and W/M on timer to come on in the day and taking pot luck with the generation - will get monitor when I do a bit more research.

Wifey was out volunteering with Whizz kids yesterday, so had to play the 'red light game' on my own (oh er missus!). Risky statement, but I reckon it was on for 13 hours straight yesterday. Nope, tell a lie, it stayed on for the toaster, but the kettle would have been too much around 9am.
Another guess, but after deducting power washer and dishwasher and 'little' stuff, probably exported 22kWh's out of 28kWh's (7am to 8pm).
Just read out your post to Wifey :rotfl: (anniversary today - yes I did remember!)
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Congratulations (on both your anniversary and your rememberance of it!)0 -
Hello,
Sorry for neglecting all you helpful people. Life is just too busy
However, nearly 3 months on and I have some stats for you...
Total generation so far 1589.49, total kwh's used (billed for) 295. I'm happy with that, although not sure how it will go over winter.
Have to admit, even 3 months on, I still like checking for that little red light and still brag about getting the washing machine and dishwasher on for freeI came home at lunch time today and couldn't put any appliances on
I was generating 3kwh's and unable to put it to good use
lol
My solar immersion still doesn't work and I'm not sure what to do about it. About to email my lawyer friend for some advise on that.
Thanks again for all your help, so happy I went for the panels0
