    A update on car.
The problems turned out to be worse than first thought. The ecu and wiring was completly shot so it was not worth going any further with. thanks for all the help and advise given. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
A mechanic checked it over and it just was not worth spending any more. The whole thing really stressed me out so wont be posting any more about it. Thanks again

Surely you can get a loom? Even an Electrician can do that for you; regarding the ECU, I used to programme them, how is it so fatal? Surely a replacement can be found?

As I said, problems were worse than first thought. This was a 11 year old car. I had already spent 600 on electrical problem. Someone with more knowledge, time and expertise may have been able to sort it out but sadly I have none of those.
I was advised I would be throwing good money after bad. This was from a fully qualified and experienced mechanic. He could have tried to rip me off and get me to spend more on it but he didnt.
I need a reliable car and cant afford to be without one for long so I madde my choice.
Once again thanks for all the advice and I hope this thread may help some one else.
