Please expand and explain.
See numerous examples of their reluctance to issue refunds whereby the item is faulty & they will still refuse point blank to issue a refund, even when replacements are unavailable. They may follow the "letter of the law" but to the majority of them they are unaware of the law, getting a refund from them is actually more troublesome than getting blood from a stone.
Then again, I guess that's how Ashley makes his money, along with various other schemes such as having his managers withhold carrier bags to increase sales of bag for life...Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

No, sorry what you posted doesn't make much sense. Do Sports Direct comply legally? Y/N ?0 -

You're not asking a yes no question. Change it to "Do Sports Direct comply with the law 100%?" and that is a most definite no.
What bluenose said made sense, perhaps you misread it. There have been more than a few threads on here where sports direct have breached consumer rights.
It seems like theres a new thread about them every week. Probably one of the most complained about (not the most, just one of the most). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Why would you automatically be entitled to a refund when it is you who has made the mistake?0

But in this case Sportsdirect are complying with the law. Not having to offer a refund but offering (out of the goodness of their heart) a goodwill gesture of an exchange gift card/token only. So no complaint.
It appears that to some posters this company can do no right and are even wrong when they stick to the letter of the law. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Also is the fact , that they do not have to offer a refund if the product is faulty. They can offer a replacement or repair, if it is viable to do that.
It is in the SOGA
Never had a problem with Sports direct and have used them for years. I would say the vast majority of people are in the same boat as me.0 -

If it's within a "reasonable time", the the consumer is entitled to reject the goods for a full refund. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

Even a broken watch is right twice a day, doesn't change the fact its broken.
No one has said they can do no right. What I said is that they are a bad example for your earlier point about it being a great thing when a company rigidly complies with the law. They're not complying with the law, they're complying with their policy. It just so happens that in this instance, they're within their rights to do so.You keep using that word. If they refuse to issue a refund where no replacement is available then no, the law stipulates that they must offer a replacement, repair or refund. Individual stores have no control over what stock comes in, so there's no real way of saying "well, I'll be getting that product in on X date" and in all likelihood, they're not going to repair a product unless significant money has been spent on it. Therefor in that situation a refund MUST be offered - and as I said, they will often times push their luck hoping punters will not know their legal rights.
Although with that being said, I do disagree with your first point, I've read it again and frankly it's pretty clear.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
All this is moot - the OP is not about a faulty product.
