What problems do you come across when walking dogs?

I love my extending lead too but mine is a tape one - it is easily seen by others from a distance and not dangerous while tangled (actually it never tangled around anyone/anything).
I have seen a cyclist flying off the bike because of one of those thin ones, I had it cut into my legs, I had it wrapped around Zara more then once.
They are dangerous, all extendable leads should be wider, bright coloured (so can be seen from a distance).
The ones that I absolutely hate are those ones, the very thin cord ones:
The tape ones like the one below are much safer - for everyone0 -
The only one I've ever had break was a tape one.
The cord ones aren't dangerous if you aren't stupid, and most people aren't stupid!0 -

But yes, it is not poor dog's fault - it is stupid owners every single time
Agree, especially as mine are always on lead people assume they're aggressive, so when their dog attacks mine and mine tell them off they run up and pick them up!! Scowling at me for having a dangerous dog - err.... your dog's aggressive because you keep picking it up!Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -

Owner on one side of the path, dog on the cord thin lead on the other.. bike coming.... not seeing the thin lead.
Etc etc
They are dangerous0 -
My small, well socialised as a puppy, aggresive dog (fear aggression) is kept on his lead. He's like this due to being attacked by a rottweiler and then a staffy. I'm fed up with having to half strangle him because people can't keep their dog's away. I probably should just leave his lead loose but I would feel terrible if he did bite another dog. Why when he's snarling and growling do some dogs want to keep on getting near him, why don't they just run away?:(0

Sorry, but it sounds like your dog should be wearing a muzzle on walks. That would probably go some way to solving your problem too as owners are more likely to be wary of a dog wearing a muzzle.0 -

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I've never ever seen or heard of that happening, and it won't if people are aware of their surroundings.0 -
People can not be aware of their surrounding if they can not SEE a very thin very long lead going across a path with owner on one side and the dog on the other.
I am not aksing you to agree with me, I am replying to OP's opening post as per topic, writing about what problems I come across when walking my dog0 -

Then why keep posting to disagree with me?0 -
If you scroll up a bit - you may be able to notice it was you replying to my post with ..
Never mind.
I replied to the topic not a person, no idea why you have the need on agree/disagree as this is nto the point here.
Every area will have different issues and this is what people are describing here.
It is not a matter of agree/disagree but examples of what are personal experiences,0
