Office workers, what do you wear to work?

Options
In my current job, I work in a cold dusty office/portakabin type building. I usually wear skinny jeans, plain cotton tops and a thick jumper or cardigan.

I may possibly be starting a new job and I think I need to hangs my wardrobe.

I don't want to wear a plain blouse and black trousers, something nice but practical and warm.

So, what do you wear? I need ideas :)

I wear smart trousers, a plain smart top (sleeves and high cut) and a cardigan, I'd say most ladies I work with wear the same

Oh and plain ballet pumps or boots in winter

I work in a very corporate environment but what I wear depends on my mood, what I have planned for the day and whats clean and which office I am working from. The London office is more formal that the other offices.

    Footware
    Black Mary Jane shoes
Bright red, patent very high heels
    Flat black knee high boots
Ankle boots with a stiletto heel
    Navy court shoes

    Bottom half
Thick wool tights in winter/ sheer tights in summer
A range of trousers, browns, greys, black
A range of short to knee length skirts (probably some slightly shorter than is strictly professional)

    Dresses
Again a range, from wrap around to the Vicky range from Monsoon (very popular this season in a lot of different prints)
I also have some grey and black shift dresses from H&M - the only shop who does shift dresses which fit my shape (hollow back) which I wear with a collared shirt in the winter and a t-shirt or nothing in the summer. I have a matching jacket for 1 of them.

    Tops
I have a number of different collared shirts, mainly from TM Lewin (big fan of their shirts) which I wear when I can be bothered to iron them

Sometimes I just wear polo neck tops (M&S outlet store often have these) in black and chocolate brown.

If I don't have meetings I wear v-neck jumpers (bright red or cerise) and little lacy vests or just long sleeve t-shirts.

I also have a couple of trouser suits...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Trouser suits with shirts or thin jumpers usually. Occasionally a posh skirt. Dress-down Friday is jeans for everyone although technically it's not allowed - they only pre-empt it when the big cheeses are coming in from overseas.

I wear a crepe A line skirt from M&S (got a black one and a navy one) with one of a variety of t-shirt tops from Debenhams.

Bare legs/sandals in summer, opaque tights and some Mary Jane shoes in winter.

If I am going out on business I wear black trousers instead (as they look a bit smarter).

It depends on the culture and environment of your new place. When I was in a library, it tended to be jumpers and sensible shoes as that's how a lot of them dressed, and you do tend to end up lugging a lot of books about.

When I was managing a programming team and going to meetings, it tended to be suits and low heels.

When I was selling things, I found that a pretty dress(not revealing) tended to result in more sales than a jumper and jeans *rollseyes*

I'm afraid that my office wardrobe is very boring.

Smart trousers - black, grey or burgundy.
Shirts - predominantly white, most of them are striped.
Same pair of black heeled brogues regardless what combination the above is.
