Our bin men are great. They are council employees not contractors and just have to collect bags from our homes once a week.

There is a problem with foxes round here and they rip the bags apart overnight if they can so I got a wheelie bin and put the black bags in there so the foxes can't get at them. If the bin men are round before I have got the bags out in the morning the guys take them out for me, even though it isn't their job to do so.

I wrote to their manager to say thanks

    That'll get them a reprimand I bet.:rotfl:

I have made known my opinion on the bin men, I am not now going to go off topic and start discussing wages.

    Thank you

Too embarrassed to try and defend your rather ridiculous statement? :rotfl:

I always thought bin men earned far more than NMW.

Quite a bit more in fact? Or is that urban legend?

From Google - it seems than £40k plus isn't an unheard of wage for a bin man.

How is that not well paid?
