Me neither - this is a great way of looking at what we owe, and I'd love to make it official. Have been looking for a 2014 thread, but don't think there is one.
Really motivated to shift my debt this year. I've applied for a 0% CC, just waiting for the paperwork and login details. This will make SUCH a difference - was horrified to see that my monthly payments were being sucked up by interest and have only been paying around £11 of the debt off each month!
Got notification of a £118 payment from Quidco today that will go towards my CC (that's almost 3%!), once I've done the balance transfer. The bulk of that payment came from when I upgraded my phone back in June, and got £100 by using Quidco. If anyone who reads this doesn't use a cashback site already, I'd really recommend you sign up to one, as I've received nearly £650 since joining! One tip, just be sure to receive the payments in sizeable lumps - when I first started doing it, I would receive the money as soon as it was confirmed, meaning I'd get literally pence paid into my account each month which would get flittered away and I didn't see the benefit.
Just realised the time - night all!

Hi to all the newcomers, littlemissunidebt (lmud) is your gal for assigning you a member number, I'm guessing she is pretty busy at the moment but if you pop your details of starting in big, bold, colourful letters you'll stand more of a chance of her seeing it when she does pop on :money:

As the credit cards are on 0% until at least next July I am overpaying the mortgage instead. 1% of my mortgage would equate to over £1,000.00 as our mortgage is just over £100,000.00 and that would just be impossible for us to find extra every month so instead I am just going to chip away. This month I have paid £255.43. Not sure what this equates to percentage wise as not sure of exact balance outstanding on mortgage as don't have an up to date statement but it's a dent no matter how small.Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

doh! knew this month was going to be a struggle, what with chrimbo and all, but now I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks too, so budget completely blown. Got caught between the need to clear my debt and the pull of carpe diem as I haven't had a hol in two years. Am telling myself I'll come back completely reinvigorated for this challenge.
PS If I've re-spent () % that I've already cleared, any suggestions on how to treat that for this challenge??

Hello, Please can I join this challenge? I will be using it as a way to save up to pay my car loan off early! There is lots of overtime at work at the moment so hoping to get this off to a good start!
My 1% = £21
Thanks in advance, and good luck everyone!0 -
Hi all.
Paid my ebay fees and bought DD a new dressing gown with PP money but i have £6.03 in there atm. Will have another £6 in there tomorrow. My friend is paying me £25 for some bits on Thursday and my brother owes me £15 so that will be £52 ish towards Debt 2b (going to get this to £56 and send over 1% :j
DH however didnt do any over time today as he has been ill so did his 8 hours and came home, he has been asleep since 6pm bless him. So no extra pennies today there.
Ive been really good the first week in January avoiding the shops unless after something specific and ive been focusing on ways to save/earn money rather than browsing Ebay for clothes in my size that i dont really need
Ive worked out once we pay HMRC, Car payment & CC we will actually be able to start properly saving. I am too excited by that prospect. It could even be this time next year if we are careful :j More likely May 2015 but we've got no holiday this year, though DH will take a week off before July and a week end of August, paid of course. Anyone else get giddy at the idea of saving up rather than reducing debt. :rotfl:
