I can't believe that in this day and age I can't complete an on-line application without having to input a landline phone number, which I do not have (and how many million others?). And you can't even put a mobile number in the box.
I had the opposite problem, I opened a Santander 123 and found I couldn't make payments without a mobile so I've bought one for that purpose alone. It sits in the drawer most of the time and amazingly only needs charging twice a year :)

Well this is strange. My third FlexDirect account got interest for August, even though it didn't get interest for July.
  • When did you put your funds into it in July?

Hmm turns out I didn't deposit enough in July, I guess that's why. Nice to know I can get 5% on £7500 now though. :)

I've just filled in the online application this morning.

I no longer give out any house phone number due to issues with my son (he's learning disabled and he has caused several problems if he answers the phone if I'm in the loo or something).

Anyway, I put in the correct area code and then several 0's in the other space. I put in my correct mobile number in the mobile section.

Application went through fine and card is now being sent out.

Don't forget to make a chargeable call or text at least once every 6 months or your SIM will die :-(

I tried area code + 000000 and 123456, both of which were rejected. I'm more frustrated as to why they even think people are certain to have a landline these days.

How have people applied for 2nd accounts? Online? I see on the internet banking portal, there is an apply or upgrade button for FlexDirect. Have people just clicked the apply button there? Or started a fresh application like when they applied for their first account?
