Hey everyone, I bring my lunch (and breakfast) every single day at work. I never spend 1p while I'm here, aside from the odd charity things we do. So, today I brought an Egg in a tub with chives, cheese, mushrooms and ham and I popped it in to an omelette maker (you know those plastic D shaped things you put in the microwave?) and I've had a banana too. I bring my own milk in a tub and teabags from home, then I get boiled water (which is free vend from our machine) to make tea. I have crudites and dip for a snack which were left over from the weekend as I had a Body Shop party; this would not be in my usual repertoire so it's a treat day!
Then, I take it in turns with my friend to bring in lunch. We both get bored easily and don't like to eat the same things every day, so taking it in turns helps. Plus it's frugal and it's fun!Today it's her turn, we're having leftover veg curry. Yum!
I walked to work today too, 2.4 miles in the snowsave on a tsp of petrol.
All of this has helped me with WeightWatchers too (I help at class and so only pay for an e-source subscription £15 every 3 months) and I have lost over 3 stone so far, just less than a stone to goal!
Happy daysfrugality pays

I've opted for salad all this week but I've come seriously unstuck as I bought too much stuff and it cost a bloomin' fortune!
I have:
Spinach
Cucumber
Sun-dried tomatoes
Olives
Humous
Feta
Ham
Apple and raisin coleslaw
There's no way I'll eat it all by Thursday so I'm going to have to take some home.
I'm loving Twiggy's suggestion though mine has been anything but inexpensive this week!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
FatVonD - I know exactly what you mean about salad ingredients and I always have a real inner struggle with cost v benefits and the ability to eat it all. It's difficult when you want to eat salad.
Twiggy - I'm liking your idea, if nobody else has any other ideas we'll go with Always Packing Really Inexpensive Lunches :TKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Well I thought I would mix it up a bit today as I didn't get chance to make a pasta dish last night to bring.
Instead I opted for 3 slices of bread, which I shall toast, and some tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce.
Also brought a banana with me and some Mug Shots for those 'feeling peckish' moments.

Just found this thread - its great!
Re: frozen sandwiches. What works for me is to make a sandwich using frozen bread in the morning before i go to work. I put spread on the frozen bread and then the filling(s), wrap it in kitchen roll which soaks up the water, and its like a lovely fresh sandwich bu lunchtime. You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
I must be wasting away (I wish)...had one of the security guys at work offer me a chicken wrap. Well, I accepted...
