Personally, I do as much or as little as I'm comfortable with. I refuse to wack myself out for the sake of a spot of dust. ;)

Best early morning. Draw the curtains, get the air flowing with open windows. Lock the doors and do it starkers. You`ll still get warm but when you`ve finished have a cool shower and don`t towel dry

Every now and then, sit down in a cool part of the house e.g. a room with curtains closed and windows open.

Take a few ice cubes and wrap them in a clean cloth (e.g. a hankie). Place the cloth (with ice inside) against each of your pulse points and hold it there for a few seconds. Pulse points are in your neck, wrists and back of knees.

Finally, lie down and place the cloth across your forehead ... relax for a few minutes.

These are supposed to help cool your blood - not sure of the scientific evidence for this, but it seems to help.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

Putting your wrists (palms facing up) under the running cold tap helps - if you're in a drought area, put the plug in and run some cold water into the basin and put your hands and wrists in, or let the water run into a jug or bowl so it can then be used for the garden!:A

I was just about to post the exact same thing :D My nanna taught me that trick years ago when I used to stay overnight. Works everytime :D

    This works really well.

Place a wheat bag in the freezer and when it's really cold put it around your neck. Because it's on the main artery to your brain it cools you really quickly. I also wrap one in a micro fibre towel (to avoid the damp) and sleep with it on my neck. If you have two, alternate one on your neck whilst the other freezes!

This is great for elderly people, as it's so safe and easy so I've passed it on to anyone who it might help. My 90 year mum in law reckons it's the only thing keeping her alive :rotfl:
