ISA Transfer - Cheshire Building Society

I'm rather impressed by the speed of my second transfer to the Cheshire. Application form posted on Mar 22, they received it on Mar 26, and today (Mar 29) I've received an email (sent at 1am) telling me that the transfer is complete.Stompa0

Well, I wish I had never bothered to change to The Cheshire. I am disgusted with their service and customer care. I still haven't received any paperwork through the post. I took the product out on 24th Jan, today is 5th April! Absolute joke and waste of time. I have now rang them 4 times, and if my paperwork doesn't come within 10 days this time, I will complain to the financial ombudsman.0

Suggest you complain first IN WRITING to Cheshire BS, see the following addresses at http://www.thecheshire.co.uk/Contact-Us/#complaint. There is also a link to their complaints procedure leaflet on that page.muffmagnet197 wrote: »Well, I wish I had never bothered to change to The Cheshire. You have the letter you got from your previous ISA manager? Suggest you send a copy of that. Give them a deadline and insistence that lost interest is made up. If that fails, then you have the ombudsman.
Good luck.0 -
Just gave them a call, very helpful staff.
I have the cheshire ISA Issue 1 (3.5%) and they WILL allow you to put in your 2013/2014 tax year allowance in the account
The 3.5% rate drops at the End of September. So means you would get 3.5% for 6 months. Unlike the nationwide flexclusive ISA, there is NO 1st of may cut off period to put this money in0 -
As the OP of this thread I have a further question. Aside from my transfers, I also had £3k to add. I waited thinking that when my application all went through I would get an online account but no, found out everything is done by post (my fault for not reading the fine print but I do think its misleading to say its an 'instant access' account). Anyway, sent them my form and cheque to deposit the 3k. They acknowledged receipt of the cheque on 02 April but the money didnt leave my account until 07 April.
So does that mean the 3k has come out of this years ISA allowance?:heart2: Cookiepops :heart2:0 -
Has anyone completed the on line application? Every browser I've tried is telling me that I need to enter a valid email address, I tried both my personal and work without success. Best thing is you can do a ISA transfer over the phone it must be done online.0

Email address must be in 'lower case'0

I opened a cash ISA with Cheshire BS in April 2013. Several weeks and several phone calls later I finally got the documentation, including the account number. My partner who opened his ISA with Cheshire BS at the same time, is still waiting despite several phone calls. The Cheshire BS telephone message states that there are delays in sending out paperwork.
I was so concerned about the poor communications and delay providing an account number that I decided to transfer my money to an ISA with Santander.
I received a letter from Cheshire BS on 30/4/13, confirming that the payment had been sent to Santander. However, the money has not appeared in my account.
Cheshire BS say the transfer was rejected by Santander and that they are experiencing many problems like this with other customers transferring to Santander. However I was not notified that the transfer had failed.
Santander tells me there is no trace of any payment from Cheshire BS.
I have no access to my money; Cheshire BS did not call back with an update yesterday despite reassurances that they would do so. They could not tell me where my money is though they mentioned a ‘holding account’ at Barclays. They could not give me further details.0 -
I searched on Google as I opened my ISA on 5th April. After a lot of follow up phone calls, it finally transferred from my Santander on 22 May (or at least I got the confirmation from them)
But as per the comments above, disgraceful service, hardly any communication and still nothing through the post
I'd not recommend them to anyone, going to cost me as I have a large amount that is losing interest as we speakWycombe Till I Die0 -
Hi folks
I also opened and transferred to this ISA
I received paperwork for the opening of the account with the full isa limit for the year.
Although i haven't received anything to say the transfer has gone through apart from a txt from Halifax saying it had received a transfer request.
Should i have had another letter with the balance of both opening the isa and the transfer (i.e both sums added together)?
Or Even a txt/letter/email They have both my email and mobile but not received anything on those.
I haven't rang them yet but will do tomorrow if i get chance. Just curious as so many people seem to have had many different problems.
Hoping they haven't lost the transfer money
Thanks In Advance0
