My OH is 67 and gets the lowest rate DLA, how will this be affected please. We have not heard from the DLA at all and he was awarded this indefinitely.

    Many thanks.

i dont ungerstand what youre getting at.

a lifetime or indefinate award has bever meant that pwoplw will never be reviewed anyway

it just means that there isnt a time specified for when that reassessment will occur

    Makes you think 'what' exactly.

I'm not worried, my OH isnt going to get his sight back with major scar tissue behind his eyes after 13 operations on them.

If you cant help, please don't post. It really is an insult to extremely disabled people. You have to be to get DLA. They don't just hand it to you on a plate.

It's the same for PIP when it's introduced, but they must have some sort of process, like birth dates, initials etc..

Certainly - however this is not public, and it may vary by which admin centre you're with, and even further.

I don't see how only knowing your date of birth, the calculator can determine when you'll be affected it doesn't make any sense to me it's not as if it asks if you have an indefinite or life time award? I'm missing something?

This "checker" is nonsense, all it checks is if you are above/below pensionable age, it is NOT a personalised check.

Try it yourself, make up as many date of births as you want, all return the same answer.
You shouldn’t be affected by Personal Independence Payment (PIP) until 2015, but there are some exceptions.
You’ll be asked to make a claim for PIP if after October 2013 your:

    health condition or disability changes
Disability Living Allowance award is due to end and you haven’t received a renewal letter
Unless either of these happen – you don’t need to do anything. You’ll get a letter in 2015 or later explaining:

what will happen to your DLA
how you can claim Personal Independence Payment

Of course its not a personalised checker.....how many people do you think are on DLA? If read properly the checker gives you all the information you require

So it ISN'T a checker, it is just an info page.

Of course it's a checker.....you can check when and if PIP will affect you.....it just can't be personalised. I don't see what the problem is to be honest.

Most people won't be affected by PIP until at least 2015.

New claims from from certain postcodes will be taken from go live on 8th April....all other parts of the country can make a new claim from June 2013.

From October 2013 existing claimants reporting a change in their circumstances, or reaching the end of an existing award (and haven't already received a renewal pack) will be assessed under PIP. From 2015 DWP will start to contact all other existing claimants (including those on indefinite awards) and reassess them under PIP.

What is it you don't understand?
