Who's the breadwinner in your household?

Me, but what do you mean by 'how do you manage?' - the same way every oe else does - we have money coming in from my wages, we spend it0

OH earns a bit more than me, I earned a lot more than my ex.
Swings and roundabouts...does it really matter?

At present i'm the main earner, my bf is currently on the job hunt but whatever odd job he has had he puts towards bills even though i tell him no need until he finds a perm job and settled but its his way of helping out and feeling that he's contributing. If he needs anything I just tell him to use my card so he mostly does the food shopping, he's more savvy there then I am as I never stick to the shopping list whereas he's more focused

I'm not looking for him to be the BW but for us both to pot in the household in ideal world, which he does when he can till he gets on his feet.0 -
OH might earn more than me but he knows I'm the boss therefore wouldn't dream of pulling the "I'm the breadwinner" line

Plus we have a joint account so it never really matters who earns what. As long as our bills are paid I couldn't care less.0 -
Prior to my having our son, I was the higher earner, although not by much.
After mymaternity leave though I changed jobs and went part time, so my income halved.
OH has just been offered a new job earning a fair bit more, so clearly he is now the main breadwinner, but all our income goes into one family pot.
I'm pregnant again so he will be the sole earner for a bit come the back end of the year.
It keeps changing!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I earn more than DH, but all income and outgoings are treated as joint as we're a team."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Me at the moment but not when I go on maternity later in the year and I haven't always been either.
It doesn't really matter who earns most for us as everything goes in pot and is divided completely and fairly between us. We both work really hard and I prefer to share both sets of earnings as we are a team.0 -
I was the main breadwinner till OH got promoted in August

Its chopped and changed in our house...When i first met OH i was the breadwinner, he then had a stroke so that continued while he recovered and awaited surgery. After that he went back to work while i had our son, after 18 months i went back to work and we were earning pretty much equal. He then went back to university and i continued to support us, until i got sick and had to leave. He now supports us with a part time job he works around his uni time.0

Neither. We both do the same job and earn the same money.0
