So, my early scan is tomorrow. I'll be 6+5/7wks. Am I right to be assuming it'll be an internal TV scan?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0

Could be either. They'll start with an abdo one and depending on if they can see anything, they may do an internal. At 7 weeks, everything should be more than visible with an abdo scan14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
BZ at my 2 8 week scans I had internals, but then I am much bigger than you so it will depend on what they can see.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

At my 6 week scan I had an abdominal (they saw nothing) and then a much more reassuring internal, so I second that it could be either. Will be thinking of you BZ and hoping for the very best news!0

Hello Ladies,
So nice to see so many familiar faces here.
I got a positive test this morning after 16 months of ttc. Af is due tomorrow, I realise it is still very early days yet but when should I think about making an appointment at the doc? Never been pregnant before, don't know how things are done:o.0 -

Yey Firefly! How lovely to see you on here :j Others should feel very free to correct me if I'm wrong or if things are done differently in their area; but around here it seems to be that you only need to book an appointment with the Doc if you have any concerns, i.e. endo, previous pregnancy loss, PCOS, uterine abnormalities, chronic conditions or if you have any concerns about the pregnancy such as pain or bleeding. Otherwise most places will let you book in directly with the midwife - in some areas they only want to see you around the 8 week mark, but mine saw me at 5+4, not sure if that was due to input from my GP or not.0 -
Welcome firefly! :j I went to the doc straight away, but I wanted to get the scan for ectopic sorted asap. He sent me to the receptionists to book in with midwife directly after checking my medications though, and didn't even say congratulations!
So, do I go with full bladder? eta: I just rang (didn't think they'd answer at this time) and they said it'd be internal. At least I won't be sat waiting doing the need-to-pee dance"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
