Should I sell my wedding dress to pay debt?

Noooooooo - keep it.
If you sell it, you'll never be able to replace it. If you sell it, you probably won't get much money for it anyway.0 -
immoral,
Don't sell it, we recently moved house, er well I should say our bankruptcy resulted in us being kicked out, and my O.H's wedding dress appeared from the archives. After 26yrs of marriage and four kids she still looked a dream when she put it on, and when she took it off some time later
It was just another one of those moments that made us realise that debt ranks alongside bowel movements when it comes to the important things in life.
I'm not sentimental, I'd sell my brother to the highest bidder with no reserve, but never something really important.

I've still got mine, I wish I'd sold it whilst it was still fashionable. I'd deffo sell it, although you may not get a massive amount of money for it, I don't think they fetch much. Why not have a look on Ebay for completed sales of similar dresses to see how much they go for?A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
sorry I'm disagreeing with everyone else and saying keep it. I'm a sentimental old fool (well compared to you IA!) and I'd be thinking of ashleigh or kaytlin wnating to wear it?!?!0

A wedding is about dresses, cakes, food, music, drinks....
A marriage is about love, trust, honesty, family.....
The wedding is over and done with, but the marriage will last forever (I hope).
If you can bear to part with it, and it will make a decent sized dent in your debt, sell it."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
You have the husband, how much more of a reminder do you girls need?? Only kidding, I would sell it too, you have all the sentiment in the world wrapped up in those 2 little girls and your lovely hubby, a dress is a thing, nothing more.0

Wow I thought all the women would say keep it!
I think you should keep it if you want to! How many months is that money gonna knock off your DFD! 1 or 2?
Is it really worth selling just for that amount? Only you can make that decision!0 -
i saw a guy posing in a wedding dress on ebay once it became a bit of a gimmick i think the dress sold for quite a bit ..you have nothing to loose and everything to gain ...and your love is strong you dont need a dress to prove it ...but i would think about a gimmicky idea might get more hits0

Keep it.
A £500 dress is not going to fetch a lot on Ebay - even the thousands of pounds dresses don't go for that much either.
Unless its something very unusual (I am thinking of Red bodice, black trim to match the IA personality!) and unusual will make more money, then keep it. Even if Ash and K (and others???) end up playing make believe in 8 years time its something to cherish.
Also, your brother bought it for you as a wedding present. Have you sold other wedding presents on ebay (Or perhaps I shouldn't ask you that!)
Keep it!0
