Should I sell my wedding dress to pay debt?

I'm toying with the idea of selling my wedding dress on ebay to raise money towards debt. We got married 5th August last year and it's been in a dress bag gathering dust ever since. I washed it today (In the washing machine ) and it came out better but still with stains around the bottom but as I'm tall (5'9) I though anyone shorter than me could easily have it altered and therefore the stains removed....
The dress was a shop sample and £345 reduced from £545 but we didn't actually pay a penny for it as my brother bought it for me as a wedding present.

My question is.... sentiment? Or money towards debt?

I'd sell it. You have photo's and memories, why keep the frock?

I agree with Newleaf - sell it.

They really have no further use once the big day is over. My mum kept hers and it ended up in our dressing up box.

I've still got my wedding dress 14 years after getting married. I've never even looked at it since the day I wore it. Sell it, it'll be put to must better use paying off your debt. x

It's a really difficult question to answer!!!
We got married in August 1990 and I've STILL got my dress!!! What have I done with it? Nothing, but not sure I could still sell it - I know, sentiment is a bit daft, I've got my lovely photos, but I still can't bring myself to part with it.

Sell it if you get a worthwhile price for it -you'll have the happy memory of being able to reduce your debt, but if you can only get £50 for it, keep it.

    Definitely sell it.

I've been married best part of 20 years, and my dress has never been out of it's bag.

My mum ended up cutting up her dress and making dusters from it!

You've got all the lovely memories, but if you really want to keep something how about the tiara/veil - then you can still keep a part of your day, and sell on your dress.

Only sell it of you think you will get a decent(ish) amount of money for it.

My SIL spent over £3k on hers and she still refuses to sell it despite them having to sell their house to pay debts off (false logic if you ask me).

    I sold mine xx
