I'd also say get yourself some good multivits for pregnant woman - they'll contain all you need plus folic acid. Avoid liver as it's high in Vit A -thats why you should only take multi vits made for pregnancy only.
And Congrats!!!!0 -
I did go to Superdrug today and bought 'pregnacare' which has the folic acid and other vitamins which are needed. Took the first one today.
I knew I had to stop drinking alcohol, but cutting out my cups of tea will be hard. Do you think I will be ok to have one in the morning still, if I cut out any others during the day? Might ask the doctor that.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
Yorkshire decaf tea tastes just as lush as the hard stuff - might be worth seeing if you can taste the difference? Congratulations!2007 Bronze Olympic Challenge: Total £1057.34 :jDFW Nerd 269: Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0

Congrats!! Tea in moderation is fine.0

Congratulations Flis!!! I'm living proof that the Boots own brand tests are accurate lol. Regarding the tea thing, you might go off it completely, as well as coffee, like I did but caffeine in moderation is fine.
I look forward to seeing you in the Pregnancy Club!

Yay for you!
I had terrible worries about my pregnancy when I discovered all this about reducing your caffeine intake - I'm a total tea-wifie! BUT they recommend you don't have more then 6 cups a day so you can still indulge a bit. I've got some decaf tea now that my EDD's approaching because I want to breastfeed and too much caffeine apparently makes baby hyper - there's no way I want my 2 hour chunks of sleep reduced to 1 hour chunks!
Ditto the others - make a doctor's appointment (but don't get your hopes up, you'll be lucky if they throw some leaflets at you and show you the door ... next time I get pregnant I'm going to make an appointment and then when they ask what they can do for me I'll say "I'd first like to apologise for not having an exciting medical abnormality ..."). Take the folic acid, good stuff that. Prepare yourself for feeling really weird for the next 3 months (but don't do what I did and expect to be cured of all ailments by week 12, it doesn't work like that!) and prepare your partner for your bizarre mood swings and completely inexplicable crying.
And enjoy it if you can - it flies by!0 -
Am a little worried, as we are supposed to be going on holiday 2 weeks on Saturday. Need to check with the doctor if it is ok to still go. If we cancel it now we lose our deposit, but wouldn't risk it if it it going to harm the baby at all.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0

You don't need to cut out tea completely. Around 3-4 cups a day is fine. Tea has less caffeine than coffee. There are decaf versions but I think they taste foul!Congrats on the pregnancy. There are lots of useful moneysaving tips on this board so have a browse through previous pages once the shock has worn off!0 -
Harm your baby? Not likely - the poor wee mite's just undergone the stress of conception, I'm fairly sure it'll really enjoy a break!
Honestly I can't think of anything you might do on holiday at this early stage which might endanger you baby. Don't x-ray yourself repeatedly, survive on a diet of raw liver or drink gallons of sangria, do make sure you're careful about food hygiene (seriously, that's the only thing I can think of really, depending on where you go) and don't overdo it in the sun.
Check with the doc by all means but I'm totally confident you can go and enjoy your holiday - at least at this stage your bikini will still fit!0
