Hi All,

Well, was 12 days late, so took a home pregnancy test and it says positive. :j

Am so excited, don't really know what to do!!

Can people who have been pregnant give me some advice. What should you / shouldn't you eat / do etc.

Can't really believe this, it hasn't sunk in yet!!

The test doesn't lie (not for a positive anyway) huge congratulations, I'm excited for you. Start taking a folic acid supplement as soon as you can.

they probably wont do another test for you once you have told them, the home ones are that good these days!

there is a LOT of advice of what you should and should eat/drink/do (yawn!) to be found online,
have a look on this website....http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/
and this one may not have a lot of info but it is AMAZING! http://www.ehd.org/index.php (find your date and start bonding :D )

then come and join us whingers on the pregnancy thread (dont try and read it all unless you have insomnia) and do NOT read the best kept secrets thread (unless you want nightmares ;):D )

    good luck :p

The one I did was Boots own one, it does say in the instructions that it is 99% accurate, so am optimistic that it is true!

 Congrats, I was told by my midwife if a test was positive it would be 99% right and if it was negative it would be about 80% right.

    Hi hun

    Sounds good to me.

Check http://www.peeonastick.com/ and this site is great for telling you how accurate these tests are and what to do next, etc.

Sounds like congratulations are in order though :)

  • Hi

I would 2nd, make a dr's appoint although they won't do much apart from get you to make mid-wife appointment and give you a form so you can have free prescriptions.

Definately start taking folic acid. Keep away from Pate, soft cheese, cut back fizzy drinks, cut down on as much caffine as possible. The obvious don't drink alcohol or smoke. If you suffer from headaches don't take tablets try to find alternative methods of soothing them.

Relax, be happy and enjoy this wonderful time of your life!
