O2 Parking

  • £2900 for a 1st class return from London to NY.

Is that by sea? ;) closer to between £5500 to £10000 by air.
  • If you live near the 02 then you know to park in the standard car park rather than the venue parking they show on the day of a concert. You then usually pay around £9 for the evening. If asked by a security guard, just say you are going for something to eat or to the cinema - they have no way of checking and why should you pay extra just because you are going to a concert!
  • Park at Westfield shopping centre & tube in :)

My main aim in my O.P. was to warn the uninformed that there's an unpleasent surprise waiting for you
with this high parking charge. I thank all the sage's above who contributed in a positive way, to those who intimated I should have known better,, well there's not much I can say In my defense so a large raspberry to you lot.

That post sort of make a mockery of your signature doesn't it?

In the case of parking at the O2, knowledge would have helped you far more than your imagination.

Just to add my thoughts, parking is one area where you could be ripped off- and I agree that if you plan well in advance and do your homework you can limit the extra expense in parking charges.

What happens though when you plan ahead, and are still ripped off?

I took my daughter and 3 of her friends to Motor point arena in Cardiff where we had all food and drink confiscated before entrance. I was initially under the impression that drink bottles were confiscated because of the risk of them being used by objects to be thrown, and also I kind of understood opened drink bottles being confiscated (thinking of airport security concerns here as the organisers don't know what liquids the opened bottles contain), but when unopened bottles are confiscated just so you have no option but to pay rip - off prices inside the arena (talking £2 for a simple bottle of water) That I definately do object to as it is blatant profiteering.

Glow sticks not purchased in the arena were removed - but of course we had the option to pay £5 for one inside the venue! We didn't of course but you get my drift - lots of people did.

The irony of the homeless man sat by the bus station in Cardiff all day (he was there when we arrived and when we left) was not lost on any of us when we saw the food and drinks being confiscated and thrown away by Venue organisers. How many homeless people would have benefitted from that food and drink? It is such a waste of food and money.

Nor the request to donate £5 to Comic Relief which was advertised in the venue - how many people spent £5 on drinks etc in the venue, because their own pre-planned food and drink, or even glowsticks, had been confiscated that would have happily donated that money to Comic Relief instead had they not had their own food and drink confiscated?

I think that's terrible, do they have the right to confiscate food and drink? What if you were on a special diet and couldn't eat their overpriced junk?

    ;)

When I go to London (rare) I park up on the outskirts all day for £6 on a weekday or £2 or less on a weekend and get the tube in for about £9. Sorted.

    Do your research.

Although if there's a group of four of you then the parking would be better value.

    Oh yay, another whinger.

    Truth hurts. :p

I can't be the only one who actually researches this kind of thing before grabbing my keys?
